Obsolete jobs, netflix, etc
This is a neat article about obsolete jobs, relinking from Ash. One of the things that stands out to me is that we had a milkman/milk delivery when I was a kid. The article says only 7% of homes had milk delivery by 1975. I think we stopped getting it around 86 or 87? It’s a weird little leftover sort…

Estate Sale pics
Had a really fun day with Dad and @LindenAsh at the Estate sale. Basically the house was built around the Civil War, and has belonged to the same family up until a month ago when the last family member died. We got there around 11:30 and the line was stretched back out a ways. They were only letting around 60…

Seize the Clay
Today was Cat’s birthday so we all went to Seize the Clay. It was a lot of fun. The highlight was Cat’s Stank-Eyed Cinderella. (After I took this pic she scraped one of the eyeballs off and redid them to be more even LOL)

Testing, 1, 2, 3
This is a test post. As you can see below, Blogger is getting rid of the kind of blog I use – so this is my new wordpress blog. It’s pretty bare bones at the moment, I’m still working on it.

a random thought
The nastiest “critique” I’ve ever gotten in regards to my artwork was this: “Real artists use a ruler, why can’t you?” It was in the middle of a very long, very unasked-for and very “holier-than-thou” critique, but that one line has been the part of it that stuck with me. The thing is, for that particular project? I actually HAD…

Cleaning and Exploring
Weekend was nice and laid back. New Year’s Eve I was off work. Chase had to go shoot the game. I stayed home, and I think got a little sick? Seemed like I was fighting off a cold or something. I laid on the couch most of the day and drew a little bit. New Year’s was lame, probably the…

Walmart
I really hate admitting to “liking” anything in regards to Walmart, but I have to admit that I really like two of their Christmas commercials, This one I’ve only seen on tv once. Big box of meat! The little brother’s reaction is cute. This other one gets a lot more play, and it’s not as funny – but I enjoy…

Sleeping Beauty musings
I’m watching Sleeping Beauty with my cousin. I love this movie – as a kid it was my favourite, before the “renaissance” movies came along (ie, Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast). I just have to say, though, Aurora’s reaction to the fairies telling her she’s a princess always annoyed me. “Hey, you’re a princess! And sorry you can’t keep…

Star Trek
Star Trek was awesome! It was a whole lot of fun, filled with much squee-ing. Greek Fest was fun, too – ate some greek food, tried to dance to greek music, etc. And yes, we are nerds. We were first in line for Wolverine last week, and first in line for Star Trek this week. Ha.

Intruder Dog
These people down the street have this little tiny sort-of rat terrier looking dog. And they just let him out, no leash, no line or anything. So far it hasn’t really a big deal – if we come outside with Indy, it’s more an issue of keeping Indy calm. The little dog just usually barks but keeps his distance. Well…

1 Year Anniversary
Sunday was our one year anniversary 🙂 I planned the weekend as a surprise – Chase usually plans all special “events” like birthdays and valentine’s, so I thought I would do this one. We left Friday and drove to Heber Springs, AR, and stayed in a bed-and-breakfast. The whole weekend was just lazy, wandering around looking at stuff – which…

Kitty!
We have a stray cat who we feed at work. He has a little bucket-turned-bed and a food bowl next to our front door, AND he is spoiled – the people next to us set out a bed and food for him, too. I don’t think he lives in the woods, though. While he’s not exactly a “people-cat” he lets…

1st Anniversary
Our first anniversary is a week from tomorrow. While it doesn’t seem like a year it’s weird to me to think I’ve been married for a year! Chase is usually the one to plan this kind of stuff, and he likes to keep his plans secret from me. This time I’m the one planning the trip and keeping it secret…

Magic Erasers
Magic Erasers are so awesome. Ash discovered how well they could clean your shoes. Today I used one on my laptop. It’s so shiny and sparkly, oooo it’s like new again (on the outside anyway)

A redesign
I’m going to work on this blog this weekend, and get rid of this blogger-made design and replace it with my own. For now I at least updated my links and archive section over there. I’m really liking writing here again, instead of livejournal. Not that I’m going to switch completely, I’ll keep using both, but it’s nice. Haven’t decided…

Cleaning
I took all but one of my photos down off my desk at work yesterday. Not for any bad reason or anything, but because I didn’t have a single picture on there more recent than 2005. Get this – I didn’t even have a picture of my husband on there, because the most recent picture up there was before I…

A new start to my blog
I have been very neglectful of my personal blog the past couple of years. I’ve decided I ought to use it more – and not just to post stupid memes – so I’ve decided to start fresh, with a brand new blog and a brand new design. I have yet to redesign this — that will be coming soon, but…

Valentines!
So Valentine’s Day was really nice… Chase surprised me with a Beatles DVD and a toy set of two unicorns (Good Unicorn vs Evil Unicorn lol). Then we went to the Tower Room, a restaurant I didn’t even know was there… it’s on the 33rd floor of Clark Tower, and it was really cool watching the sunset from way up…

Animal Crossing pics
I stole some pics from Ash. She took & uploaded all these. All I did was steal them. Me (on the left, with WW shirt), Ash (top), and Kevin (bottom) standing in my living room! With my fishing trophy! Ash (on the left) and me outside of Nook’s. Us meeting Kevin for the first time. Like my gas mask? My…
