Amidala Petals everywhere
have been spending a lot of time making petals, dyeing petals, pinning petals and sewing petals.
have been spending a lot of time making petals, dyeing petals, pinning petals and sewing petals.
Don't take a picture of me! The dying! Take a picture of the dying! It was nice out yesterday, so I did my dying outside. Here's what the petals looked like BEFORE... And right after dying, still wet. After they were all dry today, I pinned some onto the cloak, just to get a feel for how they were looking. Here's a non-flash picture. And a flash picture... I like ...
I got quite a few more petals done this weekend, and today I finished the base cape. I worked on the dress a little more, too. Here's the base cape for my Padme Parade dress... this was on sunday morning, when I was just pinning it together and stuff. I finished it today, as I said. Here's the workstation for the parasol! Still trying to figure out how I want ...
I've actually been working on stuff! Yay, me. I finally got the serger correctly threaded to do the rolled edges for the petals, and have since made about 30 petals... and it was SO FAST!! *_* It would have taken me Iforever/I to do it on the regular sewing machine. I think I'm in love, haha. I painted my shoes for Padme - I wasn't going to, they were ok looking, ...
I haven't updated in a month! Good grief. Costume updates: Qui-Gon: No progress whatsoever. Ha, ha. Padme: I bought some more stuff (see below), and finally got the serger threaded correctly for doing rolled edges as of yesterday... but otherwise, nothing! Mara: I bought my fabric, shinguards, and goggles. I'm still trying to decide whether or not I want to do the tan hood thing, or a cape. I'm thinking ...
My little friend is gone, there's nothing else to do now but move on and remember all the good times I had with him. Still, this house is very sad right now. Mum keeps crying and blaming herself. Dad is just quiet. I'm going out to lunch with my grandmother. That will be nice. I have no idea what do do. I was supposed to start on my Padme underdress ...
As of yesterday morning I became the proud mom of my very own serger :) I'm so excited! I can't wait to start learning to use it. I have an appointment for weekend after next, the lady at the store is going to show me the basics. I saw Phantom of the Opera last night. Before I left the house, mom made me promise I wouldn't come home wanting to make ...
Remember how I posted about that church with the sign, and I was trying to describe the kind of things they put on there? I used "Seven days without prayer makes one weak" as an my example... Guess what their sign says this week? Weeeeird. Are they like, stalking me? LJ is down which kinda cancels the post I was about to make there, so what the hey, I'll make ...
tentative schedule for next year: Shadowcon (jan 7-8, Memphis) nothing new - only going on saturday, will probably just wear Ozma. MidSouthCon (April 1-3, Memphis) Padme Parade gown (which is what I'm working on now - I have 3 months to finish it, so it *should* be done... if not, it'll be at CIII) Celebration III (April 21-24, Indianapolis) Qui-Gon Jinn (for my dad) Mara Jade (MAYBE... it all depends on ...

Ash's nasty workspace!! all that styrofoam! Ash's X-Wing Pilot chestbox in progress- looking awesome. My workspace - cutting padme petals for the cape. The cloak I'm working on. Finished except the bottom hem and heming ...
