So this is another one where I thought “hey this concept art for a dress that was used for the movie looks different enough I should include it” but then when I actually drew it up it was like… nah that’s still obviously the Family Dress. LOL.
But honestly I just loved the Family Gown concept in black so much I pressed forward and just tried to give it a different look. Headcanon: Padme liked her comfortable Family Gown so much she had another one made in black.
I picture this in some sort of soft knit or jersey, so it’s fitted but still comfortable. The straps coming off the bottom of the top criss-cross with the straps from the top of the skirt in the back, connecting the two pieces. The skirt is mermaid still with a full hem and in order to get the soft jersey fabric to give you that much drama, you may want to flatline from below the knees it to give it some more body. That’s just my thought process while drawing it! The skirt had a peekaboo opening from the upper thigh to knee, but it does not go all the way to the floor.
Grey and silver beading lead down to gunmetal grey brooch at the center front, and the bottom of the skirt and sleeves is embroidered with silver and grey threads in a “smoke” motif. Gunmetal grey headband.
Honestly it’s one of my favs and I WANT TO MAKE IT.
