Wonder Woman swimsuit, made summer of 2017

I had all of the fabric in my stash, and I needed a new swimsuit. Decided to play around with it and put this together over two nights, using a Kwik Sew swimsuit pattern I had on hand.

The red matte spandex was leftover from my 70s Supergirl, the yellow wet-look spandex for the gold pieces was leftover from Batgirl. The heavy navy-blue/stars matte spandex for the shorts I had originally bought as a possibility for the bottoms for my DCNU Wonder Woman in 2009, but it wasn’t right for that, so it’s just been in my stash ever since. So it was nice to put that to use.

I used Kwiksew 3239 for this, tweaking it here and there. The cups ended up a little smaller than I wanted, and I wish I’d done something different for the straps, and it’s got some messy stitching… but overall it was fine. Got me through a swimming season without spending any money. I haven’t worn it again since and I’ll probably throw it away and some point in the future. Might keep the bottoms in case I ever do another Wonder Woman costume in the future.
