Harry Potter

Kevin’s Harry Potter costume(s), from various years.

Kevin’s Harry costume has a long history.

In 2002, he showed up to my house as “Harry Potter” with an owl, a broom, a white button up shirt and jeans.

I quickly made him some pipe-cleaner glasses and added a cape and my own tie.

In 2009 he wanted to be Harry Potter again, so we scraped together a second version:

This was just the store-bought robe, scarf and glasses, with that same old tie from last time.

In 2010-2011, we decided it was time to do this right. I made him a robe for a Christmas Present:

Black and red cotton, hood, patch, the works.
(It came straight from Madam Malkin’s, in a chest wrapped in paper and twine, dropped off by an owl. Complete with a wax-sealed letter from Madam Malkin herself.)

For his birthday in 2011 the family chipped in to also get him the sweater, tie, and wand. We also finally found a wig for him to use that looked ok (my old Ripley wig LOL)

He loves wearing this. The best was when he wore it to Momocon and got a chance to forgive and forget with Voldemort:
