Galinda – “Popular”

Galinda’s “Popular” dress from Wicked, made in 2016

Mom and I tag-teamed this costume – we were asked to do a “simplified” version of Galinda’s Popular dress. My mom handled the skirt – pink taffeta base with pink organza ruffles edged in ribbon.
I did the bodice – used my favourite bodice pattern Simplicity 5006. It has a built-in bra and boning with a lace-up back. I built the interior first, got it fitted, and then made a “fashion layer” out of the pink taffeta and sewed the pink ribbons onto it, before attaching it to the interior.
