Princess Leia – Star Wars (Ceremonial Dress – version 1)
Made for: Halloween 2005
Background: This was a last minute costume for Halloween 2005; I remade it completely in 2007.
Journal Entries: Read more at my Ceremonial Leia tag (Both Versions)
Patterns Used: McCalls 2311
Dress: I used a pattern for the main part of the dress, altered to be a tiny bit longer, for adding the sleeves, and for the shape of the neckline. I could NOT find a fabric I liked for it, I ended up using a white crepe-back satin, wrong side out. The sleeves were chiffon. I made the dress shorter than it should be due to be out and about outside on Halloween night.
Accessories: The shoes were heels I already had painted silver, and my belt was my regular Leia belt. The necklace was made of craft foam covered in silver foil.
History: I sold the dress part of this a couple of years later. See my page on my 2007 version for my remade ceremonial dress!
