This was a very last minute costume tossed together for Halloween 2005; I had planned to make a different costume, bought all the fabric for it, and then one day looked at the calendar and realized Halloween is in like, 2 weeks, there is no way this very elaborate costume is going to happen (and I never made that costume…). So I rushed off to Hancock to buy stuff to make a quick alternative. (Why not just wear one of my many costumes I already had, you might ask? I wish I could answer that.)

Dress:

I used a pattern for the main part of the dress, altered to be a tiny bit longer, for adding the sleeves, and for the shape of the neckline. I could NOT find a fabric I liked for it, I ended up using a white crepe-back satin, wrong side out so the shiny side was on the inside. The sleeves were poly chiffon; I did not use a pattern for these, just draped them on my dressform. I did make the dress shorter than it should be due to being out and about outside on Halloween night, and I didn’t want a white train dragging on the ground.

Accessories:

The shoes were heels I already had painted silver (and not well LOL), and my belt was my regular Leia belt. The necklace was made of craft foam squares covered in silver foil.

History:

This costume was always intended to be replaced, it was so last minute I knew it wasn’t going to be exactly what I wanted. Just over a year later I made version 2 , and eventually I sold this 2005 version to a new home.
