Padme – Star Wars (Lake Dress – 2nd version)
Made for: Midsouthcon 2006
Background: I loved my 2002 version, but I knew it wasn’t very accurate. I wanted to give it another shot.

Patterns Used:
Vogue 7797
Underdress:
I found some fabric similar to what I used for the outer dress on version 1.0, only not as stretchy, and much lighter weight. I used that for the underdress. This time I used a pattern for the underdress, and put a snap in at the neck instead of tieing it like I did the 2002 version. I dip-dyed it before starting the outerdress. I do wish I’d made the skirt a little fuller but I was overall decently happy with it.
Outerdress:
I made the outer drape out of poly chiffon, similar to the same way I did it in version 1.0 – by putting the underdress on and letting my mother pin and sew the outerdress into place while I had it on. Since it was already attached to the underdress and still needed dyed, it required some acrobatics to get it into the dye while keeping the underdress OUT of the dye.
Accessories:
My husband made my armbands out of plastic, and painted them. He also made the necklace for me, out of a heavier plastic and painted. It ties on. My shoes were my Parade Amidala shoes, and my hairpiece I made out of loose hair and leftover fabric and trim. I have a video showing how it works below!
History:
I decided I still wasn’t happy with this version; I sold it to finance my third version which I made in July 2006.
