Donna Noble – Doctor Who (Runaway Bride)
Background: This costume was on my list as a “maybe” depending on time/money for Dragoncon, until I finished Trillian so quickly and decided to go ahead and do this one too!

Patterns Used:
McCalls M6030
Dress:
I started off with a pattern, altering the shape of the top and adding panels into the skirt to widen it; I made it out of basic white satin, with a chiffon overlay. I added some extra triangular side panels to the side seams of the skirt to widen it a bit. Once I had the basic dress finished, I started beading!
Thanks to my husband being sick over a weekend and then me being sick and being off work for a few days, I got the beading done over the space of about a week.
Accessories:
I bought some shoes at Goodwill, and a veil and tiara at Michael’s. I added some extra pearls to the tiara, but that’s about all I did here, these were pretty easy, off-the-shelf items.
Petticoat:
I made a petticoat for the dress out of netting and cheap white satin; it also functions as a slip and is made specifically to fit under the lines of this costume, so sadly I don’t think I’ll be able to use it with anything else.
History:
This was so much fun to wear at Dragoncon. I did get asked at one point if I got married at Dragoncon that day LOL, so score for looking like a real wedding dress I guess!

Please note that none of these costumes are for sale! This is my personal portfolio.
