Dark Phoenix – X-Men (Red Version)

Made for: Wonderfest 2006

Background: I decided to use my black suit from my first Phoenix costume as the undersuit for my Stormtrooper armor… the velcro on the TK tore up the suit too much for me to continue to use it as my Phoenix suit, so I decided to replace it and do a “proper” red version – people always asked why I did black instead of red with my first version.

Suit: There’s really not much to say about this; most of the construction info on my first Dark Phoenix costume is the same. I bought the bodysuit from a dancewear store, and transferred the Phoenix symbol and boots over. It’s really exactly the same costume just with a red suit instead of black. I don’t even know why it has a separate page LOL If you’d like to read the construction info on the Phoenix symbol, boot, and gloves, go check out my 2004 version’s page for those items.

History: I wore this once at Wonderfest and once for a photoshoot. I personally still like my black version better; and more people knew I was Dark Phoenix with the black version. With the red one I got called Spider-Girl 3 times, LOL.
