Patterns Used:
None
Wig:
I bought the wig first, and trimmed it. The tiara I made of vinyl covered in my copper-coloured fabric, with a jewel glued on the top. It bobbie-pins into the wig.
Suit:
I bought a leotard and cut it apart – cut the sleeves off, and reused them to make the rolls around the top of the legs, and for the lower white armbands. The hardest part was the top – made it without a pattern, closes with a hook and eye closure. The “snake” parts on the chest I made as separate appliques and sewed on – I carefully made each segment of the “snake” so it would look 3d, but once I saw pics back from Dragoncon it all just blended together. So after Dragoncon I went back and painted darker shadows around each section of the snakes, so they would show up better.
Accessories:
The boots I had – I just tucked some fur into the top.
Orko:
As for Orko, I made him out of various things. I started off with a small poseable teddy bear from the Hobby store. I used a bouncy ball for the head, and made a wireform for the arms (since the bear’s arms weren’t long enough). I used batting to give him some more body, and used paper mache for his fingers. I made the little outfit and hat out of leftover material, and his eyes were foam. His hat was an altered doll’s hat.
History:
I’ve only worn this twice! One day I’ve GOT to drag it out and take new photos. It’s way overdue for a white backdrop shoot.

Please note that none of these costumes are for sale! This is my personal portfolio.
