#0026 – The Queen’s Reveal

Based on Butterick 6408 from 1948

The ROTS costumes were a challenge to find midcentury things that would fit a lot of these shapeless dresses. I did waffle on whether or not to draw her as pregnant in the ROTS portion of this series, in the end I decided not to. This Butterick pattern was one of those “unicorn” patterns that actually has a little hood/scarf on a vintage dress… even though Padme doesn’t wear a hood with this one, I thought it fit in well with the sort of clandestine nature of the costume. And the drape-y cowl neck and scarf was a great stand-in for the cape. Especially love the beaded shoulder element moved down to the hip, I thought that was pretty.
