happy father’s day!

Haven’t gotten to see my dad today – going out for dinner tonight. 🙂

Yesterday I spent the first part of the day taking apart my ceremonial Leia costume so I could remake the sleeves and line the top. I’ve been wanting to do that since I first finished it in 2007! I had some chiffon hanging around that was too bright white for my current projects, but it was just enough for a new pair of sleeves… I found the original pattern and cut out the bodice out of some white fabric I found in my bin. Got it about 1/4 of the way put back together yesterday – will finish it today, hopefully. I’m also going to paint the belt, and it needs a little repair. Not going to have time to completely re-do the bet the way I wanted, but it’ll look a little better. I’ll be wearing it in Huntsville next weekend.

Chase got home around 1 and I got into Selene and we took pics of that. It’s still kind of a not so great costume of mine but I got the new black suit partially for it so I was glad to get some new photos of it. Then I got into Wonder Woman and we took some shots of that.
It took so long that it was 5 by the time we got done, which was much later than we’d wanted it to be. I got changed and cleaned my costumes up as well as I could while Chase got showered and we went and got Kevin for his birthday. We took him to Hastings and let him pick out something with the money he hadn’t spent at the casino the night before LOL… he got a Voltron and a t-shirt. Then we took him for sushi… I swear, we had a bunch of sushi on the table and the three of us sucked it down in less than 3 minutes. We got some kind of dessert, then headed over the theater to see the movie. (Toy Story 3, though we kept telling Kevin we were going to see Sex and the City 2 LOL) It was good. I’ll talk more about it later 🙂

We had left the backdrop up intended to shoot one more costume when we got home but we were too tired… so it’s still up right now… Chase is letting me shoot a couple more quick ones this afternoon after Church. Which I have to go get ready for now. 🙂
