Switching things up today but still keeping it in Switching things up today but still keeping it in the realm of my Star Wars fanart. Back in 2018-2019 I did my Padme art project where I drew all of Padme’s costumes from the movies and clone wars, but then also delved into the unused concept art for the prequels. It was my fav part of the project, getting to reimagine the sketchy designs into full fledged costumes, deciding on colours and fabrics and jewelry. This particular Padme was one of four I did at the end which I called my alt storyline Padmes. In this version, she survived ROTS and went on to become a senate leader, and highly involved in the resistance she, Bail and Mon Mothma were plotting in the cut ROTS scenes. Watching Andor and Mon Mothma’s debate scenes made me think of this fanart piece again. If you want to see more from this project, they’re all available under the art tab on my blog!

I wanted to highlight some of my Andor-related fan I wanted to highlight some of my Andor-related fanart this row — this was my Andor era Mon Mothma from my Midcentury Pattern project, where I mashed midcentury fashion/sewing patterns with Star Wars costumes. Mon Mothma’s wardrobe translated into this vibe beautifully. I’d love to expand the project to include more of her season 2 outfits - and more of the Andor characters (and Ahsoka characters too. Yes I’m posting a mirror selfie on my main feed… wore my Star Trek uniform to midtowncon weekend before last, and I’m glad I took the mirror pic for posterity, when my hair looked the way I wanted! It was no longer ideal by the time I took a few more pics when we got home (after walking around outside for a couple of hours! 😹) I bought these boots in 2023 and I’m so irritated that they are already falling apart. The sole is coming off one shoe and I’ve lost the heel cap on the other. I’ve been meaning to get them to a cobbler for repairs but I forget until I need to wear them again!

Trooping the Redbirds May the 4th game and finally got to wear my new boots. They still need some work but they were super comfy. We had great weather and I got to dance on the dugout 😹 A little over 2 months since surgery so I didn’t want to push it wearing that belt for too long (it’s a bit tight on me these days and it does not have any give!), but I lasted longer than I thought I would. Yay! 🤗

My 3 Disneybound Padme outfits! Picnic Padme is My 3 Disneybound Padme outfits! Picnic Padme is brand new - if you want to read more about her I posted a photo post a couple of days ago with a whole long rambling caption 😹 The lake dress outfit I made back in 2021! It’s been so fun to wear to batuu and also took it on our Disney cruise last year. The post senate Queen Amidala look is pretty new too, I just finished her in January this year for our Jan 2025 trip. She was great cuz it was freezing cold the whole time we were there and I could layer underneath it 😹 I really wanna do a Tatooine Padme bound next. I think it really lends itself to a cool summer outfit that’d be great for the parks.

I love how this show fleshes out the character of Mon Mothma. Here’s my Rogue One Mon Mothma from a few years ago. I’d love to do an Andor Mon costume one day, they are so much more stylish than her rebellion robes!
Another recent project - a Disneybound outfit insp Another recent project - a Disneybound outfit inspired by Padme’s picnic gown! I spotted this yellow floral chiffon dress on the clearance rack at Kohls a few years ago. I bought it for a potential Disneybound, but didn’t do anything with it for a long time! I did remember it and thought about fixing it up to take on our January trip this year - but glad I didn’t, it would been too cold! (I did my Post Senate Amidala Disneybound instead). But it did stay on my mind as something I needed to get moving on. I had surgery at the end of Feb and after a couple of days my brain was excited to work on things, but my body wasn’t ready to hunch over a sewing machine yet! So I thought this is a great time to work on the picnic Disneybound, it’s just a little crafting, no hunching over the sewing machine for hours! So I got it out and got to work. I made a little green velvet belt for the dress and sewed some rosettes on to mimic the look of her headband. It snaps on in the back. I made the actual headband too, and sewed it and the hair buns onto a plain black headband so it’s all one unit I can easily take off and on as needed. I bought the snoods online and stuffed them with some loose wig hair. I wanted to do a simplified version of the capelet because I wasn’t sure I actually wanted the cape or not, so I didn’t want to put a lot of time into it to not wear it. I dyed a floral curtain panel yellow, and cut out a big U shape. I did have to monkey with the shape a bit - I’m not totally happy with it but it’s fine. I added some green trim made from some leftover fabric and added snaps at the front and back so I can take it off and on if I don’t feel like wearing it. I did think about adding Minnie ears to the headband unit… but I’m going to wait on that. I have plenty of scraps from the curtain to make them in the future. I’ll have a bigger write up on this (and Troi) in my blog soon because even tho I don’t have pics of me in them yet… I dunno when I’m wearing these so I better write my notes before I forget everything that went into them!
Current project updates! I’m almost done with Current project updates! I’m almost done with Deanna Troi from Star Trek TNG. It’s wearable anyway - though, I haven’t tried it on since finishing it and that’s one thing I still need to do 😹 (I just haven’t felt like it!) I do have a few small things to tweak on the dress but I’m waiting to see if there’s anything that I notice during the try-on so I can do everything at once. My leggings are done, my headband for the wig is done - but I do still need to style the wig. And paint the shoes. I was going to try to have all that before this past weekend, but decided to wait and not rush it. She’ll debut at dragoncon in a few months.
I love looking back in my blog to see what costume I love looking back in my blog to see what costume I was working on 5, 10, 20 years ago. It is truly like time traveling, reading my old posts puts me right back in the headset I was in back then, and when I finish reading it’s like I have to reorient myself. Also, I didn’t have a pic yet for doing a slide for this year (it would’ve been Troi but I have no pics of me in it yet!), so I did last year.

The ROTS mustafar outfit from 2006 and the AOTC battle suit from 2004. I sold them to remake them and still never have. Clone Wars Ilum Padme from 2008, it’s missing parts. My 2004 concept gown and 2003 AOTC loyalist committee dress don’t fit anymore. And I sometimes include my 2006 AOTC Corde in these collections, but I didn’t here.
