I got my fabric for Ahsoka yesterday, finally, and ripped my mockups up and got the skirt basically put together, but around that time realised I didn’t have any kind of matching thread so couldn’t do any top-stitching or finishing on it. I forgot to go get thread today, too.
So tonight I cleaned my Belle dress. The back of the organza section had come un-gathered and had been dragging on the ground for the past few times I’ve worn it, I guess (don’t know how long it’s been like that) – so I went back and re-gathered it, and cleaned the dirt off. The cleaning stuff Chase got for me is awesome. The hem is still little off-colour, but the worst of it is gone.
I also finally went back and finally finished off the one big ruffle I made for the bottom of my hoopskirt – I finally hemmed it, and sewed it permanently on, and added two more rows. Pretty happy with it now, and very happy it’s not just a piece of fabric pinned onto my hoopskirt anymore.
Tomorrow I gotta go get that thread – I’m hoping to have the fabric part finished by Sunday. Chase has been working on the headpiece. I need to take some progress pics.
Your costumes are absolutely awesome!
About how long did it take you to make your Belle Gown?
What convention are you working towards now?
thanks! š
It’s hard to pin down a definite time frame for Belle. I worked on it between July 05 (after I got back from Comic Con) to the end of August 05 (for Dragoncon)… but I was working on the other girls’ princess costumes at the same time so I don’t know how long any of them took exactly LOL
Megacon! We just got our flights booked today so it’s finally official š
