Lots of updates and plans

I haven’t updated in a month! Good grief.
Costume updates:
Qui-Gon: No progress whatsoever. Ha, ha.
Padme: I bought some more stuff (see below), and finally got the serger threaded correctly for doing rolled edges as of yesterday… but otherwise, nothing!
Mara: I bought my fabric, shinguards, and goggles. I’m still trying to decide whether or not I want to do the tan hood thing, or a cape. I’m thinking cape.
Swimsuit: Yeah I’m making my own swimsuit this year – I found a perfect pattern.

I went to Hobby Lobby yesterday and spent all the gift cards I got for birthday/XMas (I’ve been hoarding them a while!) Here’s what I got (of costuming importance, that is):
12×18 piece of metal – for making various buckles for Mara.
Big bag of leather scraps, because I couldn’t say no to it.
A little craft thing for making leather pouches, for use with Mara AND Qui-Gon, hopefully.
Two big feathers, one red, one black, and I still don’t know why.
12 clear plastic, snap together balls, hopefully for use with PGSM jupiter. (I would have wanted more, but I got all they had!)
Fabric paint. Lots of fabric paint.
Glue sticks! yay.
A new bag of little oval acrylic jewels – I’m out of the ones I originally bought when I first did Jupiter, so I needed a new green for my new tiara.
Silver beads and bead wire for Padme’s tiara.
Black and silver jewels – don’t know what for, exactly, but I’m hoping I can work them into Meph somehow, cause they’re pretty.
Red fabric for cousin’s new Link.

MidSouthCon – got friday off at work. All set.
C3 – Everything is go, except costumes, and Ash registering herself.
A-Kon – hotel reservations made, registered for con, now just need to get my plane tickets.
Comic Con – still need to register, and figure out plane stuff.
Dragoncon – registered, got hotel. Yay 🙂 I want it to be dragoncon like now!!

I’m thinking- just *thinking*- of trying to go to Anime Weekend Atlanta this year. It’s the weekend after my birthday, so I’m thinking maybe I could get someone to buy my plane tickets for me as a gift, haha.
So, people who have been, is it worth it? Should I attempt to go?

And, finally, here’s my mom’s dress. The finished product kinda got lost in the shuffle of real life:
