My new Serger! And Qui-Gon updates

As of yesterday morning I became the proud mom of my very own serger šŸ™‚
I’m so excited! I can’t wait to start learning to use it. I have an appointment for weekend after next, the lady at the store is going to show me the basics.

I saw Phantom of the Opera last night. Before I left the house, mom made me promise I wouldn’t come home wanting to make another costume. LOL. I kept my promise! I hope I see some recreations soon, though… certainly there should be a few at Dragoncon this year!

Since LJ was down yesterday (right when I was wanting to post no less), I posted some costume pics in my blog. I’ll repost them here, it’s not many, and they’re small.

This is my fabric for dad’s Qui-Gon costume. His robe fabric is the dark brown the left, and the tunic fabric is on the right.

These are the base boots I got for him (as modeled by Ash). I need to add the straps to the front.

These are the boots I got for my Mephistopheles costume for Dragoncon this year. I normally don’t buy things like this so far in advance, but I saw them and just KNEW they were my Meph boots. Aren’t they nasty looking? I love them.

I bought these boots for a different costume, but when I went to rewear Susan in 2007, I decided to use them with tha costume instead.Kelldar.com | My Facebook Page | Tumblr | Instagram

And here’s all the fabric for my Padme Parade gown. Chiffon on the left, organza in the middle and matte satin on the right.

This was all of my Amidala fabric at the start, before dying or anything! Chiffon, Organza and Satin! Oh my!I ended up having to go back to buy more material for the cape several times. All in all between the lining, netting, and all the petals of organza and chiffon (doubled), the cape ended up eating up about 40 yards of material.Kelldar.com | My Facebook Page | Tumblr | Instagram

Right now we’re working on a dress for mom. Her school has an annual Civil War program, and this year she wanted to make a Civil War-esque dress to wear, instead of renting a costume again. Her fabric is really pretty and it’ll look nice.
