It’s so strange being able to pack my costumes – and not have to worry about shipping or airlines! This is the first time I’ve driven to Dcon, and the first time in a looong time I’ve not shipped costumes or had to store things in my luggage. It’s an odd experience, but a good one.
Chase’s costume is almoooooost there. Just a few more things. I just finished my secret costume. I got most everything packed, except the stormtrooper and what’s not finished. Tomorrow night will finish Chase’s costume and blue Belle.
Costume-ish:
Belle ballgown upgrades – I really love how this came out. It’s closer to what I originally imagined now (closer to the Disney on Ice version). I added new, bigger “swoops” to the bottom, yellow roses in place of the jewels on the gathers, some sequins, and some sequin trim up the seams on the bodice. I’m all sparkley now. The best part? It’s all removeable. None of what I did is permanent, so if I feel like it I can go back to “regular” Belle at any time.
Mando – I haven’t had the whole thing on together. But I like the parts. I especially like my capes. My colour combo was black/grey/red with hints of copper. My capes were three layers – two different blacks, and a dark red suede. My shirt and pants were grey material – both of them, the capes and the vest we weathered like crazy, it was fun! My vest is wonderful, I love it! My boots are nice, and Chase did my belt for me. I haven’t attached my armor pieces yet – we’re going to do that at the con. My favourite part is the gun, though. Chase is totally responsible for that.
Corde – I’ve still got a few more bracelets to make, and I’m going to pull some threads through while riding to Atlanta, but mostly – I’m pleased with her. I’m a little disappointed I was too scared to get some darker colours on it… ah well.
Blue Belle – Geez talk about a sack. It looks ok though, very comfy 🙂
Secret – I’m on the fence about this one. I only did it for chase and I’m not sure how I like how I look! I love the wig though.
