My 11th Dragoncon is in the books and it was another great year!
So here’s my little report/pics/whatever you want to call it.
We got into Atlanta Wednesday morning, got checked in and unpacked.

Then we headed to Ikea to pick up some furniture for my parents, then we went and ate at the chicken and waffles place (YUM.)
I was really pleased with it. It was surprisingly super comfy to wear. My wig got a little crushed in transit, I resprayed it for when I wore it again Sunday, but don’t have any pics of it from Sunday right now (Chase has a couple but hasn’t sent them to me yet). I do still want to make the wings for GMX hopefully.
ok. So I bought these toe-kini things to wear with my heels are they are actually really fabulous and do help a ton. But, they look like tiny granny panties.
So we called them toe-panties.
Chase brought K9 down, and after a while I ran upstairs by myself to put on Romana, forgetting that I don’t know how to tie a tie LOL So there’s some pics of me with it just tucked in and not actually tied, and then some actually tied once I finally found Chase again. (Also, I had it slung around my neck when I left the room, got all the way downstairs and realised it was gone. Had to go all the way back upstairs to find it still up on our floor.)
As for Romana – well, I think maybe Susan Sto Helit in 2003 comes close to Romana for people not knowing who I was dressed as. I’ve never been asked so many times who I’m dressed as and gotten so many blank stares! It would have been better to have worn it during a group shoot or something. The few people who did know were awesome though 🙂 It wouldn’t have bothered me at all except the shoes gave me a blister. A blister! On the first night of dragoncon!
Awesome Dalek:
FRIDAY!
We got up and I put on Belle!
This little girl was awesome. She came up to get a pic with me, and I said “Hi Batgirl!” and she said, “I’m not Batgirl. I’m Batman!” awesome.
I only wore Belle once the whole weekend, for about an hour and a half Friday morning. I got mobbed. I couldn’t move for people wanting pics, which was wonderful, but wore me out! After that it was just so crowded I didn’t feel like dealing with it again, but she’ll be back next year 🙂
One more:
This little Supergirl was soooooo cute!!
I met the Master!
Chase did a photoshoot with me & Jess:
I put on Ms Marvel and we went to the Ryans Army shoot, and then we had to run to our Stan Lee photo-op. It was one of my highlights of this year, got to banter a bit with him when the photographer had to change cards. He’s so awesome.
And we met Uncle Matt!
More pony fun…
SATURDAY!
We donned our Time Lords and headed off to the parade!
Saw this great Brave group on our way!
Parade was great but HOT. We skipped the big Doctor Who photoshoot on the steps, and headed straight up the 10th floor for the smaller shots and cooled off. By cooling off I mean we pretty much took our costumes completely off LOL
Here’s a few pics once we put ourselves back together.
After the shoot I was too tired to put on anything major, so I did manage to wear Donna Silence in the Library for a while, but forgot to take any pics. Had some lunch and did some shopping. (We didn’t buy a lot this year, though Lord knows we tried. LOL)
Then I put on Emma. I wore a slightly different version of Emma this year- I’ve had this white corset for years, so I decided to wear a more classic Emma look. Didn’t wear it long, Chase took some pics and then I went and got out of it.
After dinner (ordered pizza) it was time for Hocus Pocus! It took us a while to get into them and get makeup done, and they were really hot, so we maybe wore them 2 hours tops. But we loved them and had a great response to them!
I put on Ms Marvel for a bit after that and Chase and i wandered around for a bit 🙂
SUNDAY!!
Had to get up and get moving for the Wonder Woman photoshoot! I wore my flipflops over there and put the sandals on when we got there LOL
Anyway it was a great photoshoot, it was quick, wasn’t too hot, great costumes, and no milling around wondering what to do.
My velcro started to pop up so I headed back (Chase had gone to a panel), made it all the way to our floor on those stupid sandals before the velcro gave up the ghost and one my eagles fell off (LOL I caught it!)
I put on Donna Journey’s End for some more shopping and lunch. Some sites we saw:
Celeb encounters: Chase got Colin Ferguson’s autograph, and Cath got Sylvester McCoy.
Ash got her pic with John Barrowman (and an amazing hug) and his autograph, too!
We all got into our Time Lords after the masquerade and hung around for a while. Photo by Dalai Mickey:
Then it was girl’s night, I put on Fluttershy again (without the wings since they were getting battered in the crowds), and us girls hang out until everyone was exhausted.
Monday we slept late, shopped some more, then went and had dinner at Cheesecake Factory. Tuesday morning bright and early we came home. I was a bit under the weather last week, mostly just tired. Chase however has gotten full blown con-crud and is still sick, he finally went to the doctor today. My poor baby.
Already planning for Dragoncon #12!!
