I loved this little piece of concept art and was really looking forward to tackling… it ended up being very challenging! It sort-of has an early Final Fantasy vibe to it, doesn’t it? I kept calling it the RPG dress while working on it.
I have no idea what I’d actually make the robe out of (i’m thinking something kinda off the wall but I dunno what), but the colour would be lightly marbled tones of blues, aqua and purple, and it would all be quilted; lots of batting to create the round shapes and stitched down to make the lines.
Worn over a purple silk romper sort of outfit with a floral pattern; I imagine the excess of the upper part is held in place with a belt hidden in there somewhere. The pants portion are angled longer in the front, shorter in the back. Purple metallic “sandals” match the hair accessories.
This is so kooky yet for some reason I really really would like to try to make it. Seems like a fun project.
