I really don’t have much of anything to post today! But if I don’t post today I may not post at all this week since we leave for our trip Wednesday! REALLY early Wednesday. Like super early.

Speaking of really early, I had to come in to work early today… I was here at 6AM YIKES. And the drive in was the freaking creepiest drive I’ve ever experienced. It was pitch black outside, incredibly foggy and dead silent. My windows kept fogging up so between that and the fog it was really difficult to see. Got to work and locked all the doors and basically hid because I was creeped out. Didn’t help that last night I literally had a dream that I was alone in the office and the lights kept going out.

This weekend was mostly a bunch of Christmas shopping. All day Saturday and then that afternoon ran out to my to my parents house to borrow their printer to print the heat-transfers for my Ariel shirt. We ended up hanging out there til dinner time, went to dinner and then finally came home and I did my heat transfers (more on that in a bit). Yesterday we had lunch to celebrate my Uncle Buddy’s birthday (98!!) and then ran some errands. Went to see Starry Nights with Nana, Kristie and Kevin and then came home to pack.

LOOK AT THIS PRECIOUS

It cracks me up I can get snapchat to work on her.

Here’s my Ariel shirt.
I knew I was running a risk heat-transferring this stuff onto this shirt. Besides the stiffening effect of a very loose knit, also just ironing on something white onto something dark and trying to match the purple.

I cut each piece out and trimmed the excess off and ironed them on individually. The heat of the iron changed the colour of the fabric – but once it cooled it went back to normal. (it also released some of the dye off the shirt onto the pillow case I had underneath it. Glad I didn’t care about that pillowcase.)

The individual seashells on each hem took the longest of course. But I was able to start doing them 3-4 at a time once I got into the hang of it.

It’s actually not too terribly stiff but there’s discolouration within the white text… but I decided not to sweat that because it’s just a quick, fun thing and it still fits and looks pretty cute.

ART!
I only have one art thing today, too. This one took forever so.. yeah.

I’ve had this TPM-era concept art saved in my “maybe I’ll make this one day” costume folder for AGES. Although in my head I would’ve made it in delicate spring florals – pinks, whites, greens, yellows. But I’ve done too many of these concept arts like that lately I feel like, and I REALLY wanted to do a TPM-era Queen concept that was red, white and black. And out of the ones I had left, this one suited that colour scheme best. It really kinda turned out like… Sith Lord Padme, and I dig it. Now I want to make it even more.

Also they used elements on this headpiece/collar thing in Duchess Satine’s look in Clone Wars, so that’s neat. I guess I’m going to have to draw it again at some point if I ever get around to doing characters other than Padme.

So Wednesday… I need to be up at 4AM YIKES AGAIN. Our flight is at 6:20. Where am I going? It is a mystery.
