I am getting SO frustrated with USPS. The last two small things I’ve ordered — my tablet glove back in March, and now my fabric swatches — have both gone missing. The tablet glove made it to Memphis and then just disappeared. After 3 weeks Amazon refunded it (not like it was expensive to start with)… and then it finally showed up, at the beginning of MAY. A month and a half after I ordered it.
These fabric swatches were sent out over a week ago, they’ve made it to Memphis, and now they are also just stalled out. They’ve been “in transit to your destination” since Friday. WTF USPS.
C’mon, I need these swatches.
Speaking of swatches I ordered a swatch for a possible fabric for the outer dress for TFA Leia. Hopefully that gets here soon too – I don’t want to dye the inner dress fabric til I have the outer dress material to compare it to. So kinda stuck on that for the moment.
Speaking of Leia her Last Jedi outfit from the Vanity Fair cover is EVERYTHING — holy cow that’s the one I’m doing after I finish the Blue dress instead of the uniform. I. need. it.
Since my last post haven’t done a whole lot – played around with the lake dress fabric a little. Sewed the three back panels together and kinda folded up the excess length from the center panel.
I am starting to think that the 2 back panels are not going to be long enough. I miiiiiiight buy a few more yards of it just to replace those two panels. I know I was trying to do this on the cheap, and I’m already going to have to buy fabric for the underdress… but if this is going to be my FINAL version then I need to do it right, y’know?
in other news for like the last… I guess 2 years I have developed a distaste for Pinterest. Kinda stopped using it all together but I still have my account and some stuff saved, including my Pattern Collection folder, which I use to link to from the portfolio pages. I decided I was done with that. So I set about moving all that over to smugmug so I could just dump my pinterest altogether without disrupting my site.
In doing so I realized I was missing a LOT of patterns — so last night i went through about 1/3 of it and found stuff I was missing. So far HERE is what I’ve got uploaded. It’s in a kinda vague order… historical to modern bridal/evening to fantasy to generic costume to superhero/swimwear/dance to regular clothes to kids stuff. I should have some more uploaded tonight.
Oh and since I don’t think I’ve ever had a photo of it online or anything, this is the oldest pattern in my collection:

I also finished the Tiana to go with the Belle from the other day. I had realy wanted to use Josephine Baker, but I just couldn’t find a reference of her that worked right. But while I digging I came across an actress/singer from the 40s and 50s named Sheila Guyse and her smile just said Tiana!! to me so I used her.
been working on a Grace Kelly as Cinderella so hopefully I”ll get that done to post in the next day or so.
I’m off Friday (woo four day weekend!) so hopefully stuff comes so I can get some work done.
