when i thought about toys

My favourite toys when I was *really* young, like, 2 or 3 years old, were my Fisher Price Little People. I had a gazillion of ’em, and I had 2 playsets that I remember – the zoo and the Western Town.

The Western Town was probably one of the single greatest toys I ever had. What made it so great, you ask? Well, if you look at the roof of the Western Town in that pic, you’ll see the Indian standing there. There was a conveyor belt sort of thing up… you put a Little Person on it, turned the crank and watched ’em go. When they got to the end they fell to a fiery death! Well, ok, not a fiery death but they did fall. When I was little, this was THE RIDE. All the toys would line up to go down the conveyor belt. I had a Disney amusement park, but none of the toys loved the Amusement park rides as much as they loved the WESTERN TOWN!

I also had a huge box of cars. Not all were cars – no, it was more like anything with wheels went in that box. Hot wheels cars, larger metal cars, a Goofy on a tricycle, Snoopy on his doghouse, LOTS of pull-back cars… I would drive my parents crazy with these things, I’d dump them all out on the kitchen floor and have races for hours. Still do, actually! LOL The two coolest cars I have – which graduated the box a few years ago and made it onto my desk – are my Spider-man Van, and my James Bond Aston Martin. The Aston Martin did all kinds of neat things, and the Spider Van was just plain cool.
