computers & movies

Yesterday I finally got some new RAM for my computer which needed it BADLY. I got to enjoy it for about an hour this morning – Chase let Windows do its updates (which I never let it) when he installed the RAM, and so I think it was still installing stuff while I was gone all day. I get home and the top half of my monitor is flickering. It’s a little subtle, just enough to be irritating. Set my System Restore back to before the windows updates, but it’s still doing it – tried shutting down, checking display properties, video card, etc, doesn’t seem to be going away. I don’t know what caused it – the RAM, the windows updates or nothing at all. Very frustrating!! I need a new computer.

So I am watching Anastasia (the Don Bluth animated version) for the first time ever. I was a tad too old when this came out (97?) to care about it – plus I’ve never cared for Don Bluth movies, even as a kid (wanting to be an animator from the time I was 6 to about 14 or 15 made me a little snob. There’s something off about the way the characters move in Bluth movies – I can’t put my finger on it, it’s like it’s “right” but not? And I hate the over-exaggerated gestures for no reason, and that they draw the naso-labial lines on the face too often, which bugs me.)
So anyway despite all my whining above; I’m actually enjoying it. The quirks I mentioned above seem to be toned down a little more, compared to something like All Dogs Go to Heaven. And it’s got a great cast! Didn’t expect that. Anyway, time to stop typing and go back to watching.

eta: finished Anastasia, I really enjoyed it, more than I expected. The animation was really nice, loved her costumes too !
