pattern frustration

First step to cleaning up my office is getting control of my massive pattern collection. I just don’t have room to keep them in the plastic bins they’re in, it’s taking up too much room – I need to find a more space-saving option.

I could possibly fit a small file cabinet or similar under one of my desks – but the problem is all of my patterns (except the unopened ones) are stored in 8×10 baggies, which makes it hard to “file” them.
I found people suggesting storing them in binders, which sounded great. I went and bought the biggest binder I could find, put two in there, and realised I was going to have probably 6-8 patterns per binder. It’s just not going to work.
My original idea was to make an over-the-door hanger with pockets all over it that I could put on the inside of both of my closet doors. I just haven’t had time to do anything like that – I looked at getting a shoe organizer but the pockets are meant for one shoe, not two, so they’re not wide enough. I could get one, cut the pockets off and make new pockets, I guess… though I think I MAY have found one that will work as it is, I’m going to go check it out soon.

I just don’t know, I’m stumped and tired of having plastic bins hanging around my office.
