I watched The Exorcist on my computer the night before last. It was about halfway through, and my computer just shut down out of nowhere. It was plugged into the wall and everything.. it just shut down. It was creepy.
Then last night, I watched the Director’s Commentary, which I always do. That’s a big draw for me, for a DVD – commentaries! I love commentaries! But the one on The Exorcist has to be the most BORING, usless commentary I’ve ever listened to. Seriously. Instead of fun little anecdotes, or talking about the actors, motivations, locations, props, sets, etc… the director basically just described what was happening on screen. It was so boring – I mean, I already know what’s happening. I can see it.
I also just returned the 1920’s Faust, the one by Murnau. I’d already seen it but I got it again to see if Meph’s costume in that might lend something to the one I’m making. It didn’t, at all, but it was fun to watch again. I really love early movies – I love how they figured out how to do special effects and camera tricks and things.
I’m also still watching Metropolis. Haven’t finished it yet.
Coming up next on Netflix is Pride and Prejudice (the Colin Firth one from 95)… then… I dunno, I forget.
For some reason, everyone has been asking me what I’m doing this weekend. wtf. The only thing I have planned is a trip to Home Depot, so that’s what I keep telling everyone.
