So I’m still doing my little project of going back through old pictures and uploading new versions. I thought I’d share some of the more interesting ones, including some I’ve never had uploaded in the first place.
Here’s my fourth lake dress that I made in 2008 – I’ve only ever had 3 pictures of this costume uploaded, though we took about 25 pictures all together. Unfortunately the bulk of them were blurry due to low light and shooting without a flash. I’ve also always HATED the red backdrop we shot on, so I desaturated it and gave it a purple tint, which just didn’t clash so much with the costume. Doing that took a lot of time, so I never really dug through the photos and just picked my few favs and used those. But I finally went through and did a little more – one of the other problems was that the backdrop was not properly laid out, so there were a lot of spots were you could see kitchen floor or our laundry room; I fixed them as best I could, but they’re not great….. BUT at least I have a few more pictures of this costume now.
I found this shot of Selene from Dragoncon 2008 that I actually really liked. I generally don’t like close-ups like this. I did edit my eyes to be a little bit more saturated since I obviously wasn’t wearing the Underworld vampire contacts 🙂
For some reason I never uploaded the pictures of me and Kevin as Luke and Leia on Endor from several years ago.
And some silly ones… bowing at the end of the photoshoot, and the second one I think we were just looking around while waiting on Chase to get the camera set up, but it looks like we’re totally lost.
Another one I recently revisited were my Wonder Woman (2007 version) white backdrop photos. These were from the very first white backdrop shoot Chase & I did, and I’ve never been totally happy with how the pictures came out. I went back to the original RAW files and, with 6 more years of experience of cleaning these things up, re-edited them from the ground up. I’m so much happier with these now – my skin doesn’t look yellow, my face isn’t in shadows and there’s not random patches of shadow in the corners.
Revisited my Scarlet Witch pictures from the first time I wore it as well – a lot of these were really dark because if I tried to lighten them, my pink bodysuit ended up washed out and just looking white, which looked really weird. So I redid these while trying to preserve the pink, and bring it back up as needed.
Tonight I’m shooting Peggy on the white backdrop so I can get some updated pictures with my new makeup and shortened wig 🙂 So I’ll be taking a break from old pictures for a bit.
