Dragoncon grumblings

In which am an old woman and want to complain about things.

1. No, I don’t like the new logo. It doesn’t say Dragoncon to me. The old logo looked like classic fantasy – a homey, nostalgic look that I think suited Dragoncon very well. I will continue to use the old one where I can.

2. I don’t like the new parade route. The one from last year – it was like that due to trolley construction in downtown Atlanta. They decided to continue with it this year because it was successful I guess? There was just too much direct sun. I was more exhausted and sweaty after last year’s parade than the times I walked in Boushh or the Time Lord.

This is just me grousing. Don’t take it seriously. I’ll still be at the parade with bells on. Part of it is, yes, I don’t like change (but for both changes, part of it is a genuine concern). I want to have an old-fashioned DragonCon. Like it used to be in 2004 and 2005. I keep going around singing, “Let’s have an old-fashioned DragonCon” but I know I can’t go back to how it was back then… I can gripe and be miserable about the way the con has changed or I can adapt and tell myself to have fun anyway, and I’m going to go with the second option there.
