This weekend’s projects…

On Saturday, I jumped in and dyed my wool.

Just as reminder, here’s what it looked like originally along with my dye tests:

Dye Tests. The thing I enjoyed about this fabric, was even after dyeing it green, depending on the lighting it would look more brown or more green, very similar to the screencaps/promo shots of the actual costume.Kelldar.com | My Facebook Page | Tumblr | Instagram

Chase helped me fill up one of our big bins with hot water.

The only place i have large enough to dye 7 yards of wool is in a plastic bin. My husband came up with this solution for getting hot water into it.Kelldar.com | My Facebook Page | Tumblr | Instagram

Then we took it outside for the actual dyeing:

Here it is drying:

And then we went to see X-Men, which I enjoyed very much.

Yesterday, I jumped right in. Started on a mock-up of my jacket, and nearly finished my skirt:

My mostly-finished Peggy Carter skirt. Still needed a zipper at this point. This was the easy part!Kelldar.com | My Facebook Page | Tumblr | Instagram

The skirt was NOT fitting or hanging well at all, and most of that was due to the lining. I took the lining out and it looked great. I ended up cutting the lining in half and still attaching it at the top, so it’s functioning as a slip, sort of. It just needs a zipper.

Tonight, more messing with my jacket mock-up. My pattern has princess seams which I need to edit out and replace with a dart. I forgot to take a picture of it last night, so I’ll take one tonight.
