Disney, Day 5 and 6 and 7…

DAY 5….
Our Hollywood Studios Day!
Since I brought my Her Universe Rogue Squadron dress to wear, I put my hair up in mini Leia buns. Which I forgot how hard that is to make them look good when you’re not then covering them up with extensions! Mom had to re-do them for me at the park – especially after Tower of Terror! LOL.
Anyway, we hopped a shuttle and got there right at park open. We had a little breakfast at Starring Rolls, and then the app said waittime at Rock n Roller Coaster was only 5 minutes. So we walked down there to find it was actually 45. Nah.
So we walked around the corner and rode Tower of Terror (10 minute wait).
Chase won’t ride that so he took pics while we rode.
Then we met Mike and Sulley..
Did Toy Story Midway Mania, Muppets 3-D and then used our FP for Star Tours.
Met Phineas and Ferb… which was weird because I’ve never watched it.
Had a counter service lunch and rode Tower of Terror again with our FP+. Then Studio Backlot Tour, where mom ended up being one of the volunteers for the Harbor Attack stunt show. It was hilarious.
Dad met an Army Man..
Walked through One Man’s Dream…
Then it was the afternoon, so of course it was back to the hotel for naptime.
That evening was dinner at Epcot again — Akershus! We met Donald along the way.
Then we rode Maelstrom… where dad showed off his new hat he got at Hollywood Studios…
Dinner was fun. Mom was just as geeked out by meeting as characters as me so that made it extra fun. All the princesses were nice, but Ariel was our favourite – dad took a minute getting the camera ready so she grabbed up mom’s phone and took a picture of all 3 of us with it!
And we enjoyed the food!
DAY 6…
Day 6 I had a plan. I was going to get up early, let everybody else sleep in and head over to the Magic Kingdom at rope drop by myself to knock out some stuff I wanted to do. On that list was: meeting several characters I didn’t think anybody else would want to stand in line for, getting a Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom starter set, riding Haunted Mansion again – all without stopping for breakfast.
Well mom was worried and didn’t want me going alone so she was going to get up and go with me. Chase volunteered instead so she and dad slept in. It ended up being a pretty chilly morning so it was one of those “make-do with what I have” days – ended up with my longsleeve princess shirt, my TARDIS cardigan and the Mickey scarf mom got me a few days earlier, and was still shivering.
But! Got most of my things scratched off my list.
Met Pluto:
The Fairy Godmother YAY!! She was so sweet!
Vidia and Tinkerbell – I was excited it was Vidia!
Peter and Wendy – I’d never met Wendy!
Tiana. Of course. I can’t pass up meeting Tiana. She’s pretty much tied with Belle for my all time fav princess and I love meeting her.
And I got my Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom set, though I ended up not playing! – I’ll have to bring them back when we come back next time.
Then mom and dad came over and we had lunch at Columbia Harbor House, rode the Peoplemover and did Enchanted Tales with Belle.
Chase was a knight and mom was the wardrobe!
And I got their Belle bookmarks š
Then mom, dad and I rode Big Thunder and Space Mountain, and they headed back over to the hotel while Chase and I decided to watch the parade again. He scouted a spot while I went and stood in a forever long line for Dole Whips, but sitting on the curb and eating a Dole Whip while watching the new parade was pretty fabulous.
Then, it was back to EPCOT for dinner at Rose and Crown!
First off we stopped in Mexico for Margaritas and another tequila flight… then back around to the UK.
Chase had a beer flight, mom is not impressed.
We ate leisurely and watched the Epcot fireworks. By the time we were all done, the park was pretty much cleared out and we had almost no wait for a monorail.
Now to go back, on the first day my legs got all red and splotchy, and my mom said it looked like the sun rash she’d gotten when we all came the last time. It was especially bad around my ankles and itchy. (Plus, my feet were swollen by like day 3! I’ve never had that happen!). So I took a Benedryl I had before bed and unfortunately I think it made me sick overnight. Thankfully by morning it was mostly past, but I didn’t get to indulge at breakfast as much as I would have liked.
Anyway –
DAY 7…
Our last day at Bay Lake š We’d originally intended to fly home Friday, so that’s what we booked. But it was much cheaper to fly home Saturday. Disney for whatever reason couldn’t just add the day to our package – we had to “book” that night as a separate stay, and it was crazy expensive. So we decided to just book a nearby Marriott for friday night – no big deal?
But then on Thursday we got to thinking – this is going to be a lot of trouble. Check-out, get a taxi with our luggage to the Marriott. Get a taxi (or wait forever on an off-brand shuttle) back to the parks, get a taxi (or offbrand shuttle) back to the hotel. Yuck! What a hassle!
So I got on my phone and priced a value resort. It wasn’t much more expensive than the Marriott, and the Marriott would have ended up being MORE expensive after paying taxi fees. So we canceled the Marriott, booked a Little Mermaid room at Art of Animation, and made life much easier! Disney just transferred our luggage for us while we were at the parks!
So anyway that morning we had breakfast at Kona Cafe at the Polynesian. Yum! Then we rode back around to the hotel and checked out, and had our luggage sent over to Art of Animation. Then back to the Magic Kingdom for the day.
We rode Jungle Cruise and Pirates, and rode the train all the around which is always nice.
Then we went and met talking Mickey! That was neat.
Chase staked out a spot on the train station balcony to record the parade. It was a great spot! While waiting on it I happened to look over and see NO ONE in line for Mary Poppins… so mom and I ran over and took a pic with her.
Then, the parade!
There’s a ton more over on my smugmug album.
After that… time to say goodbye š
We boarded the shuttle to Art of Animation. It’s a neat resort. We ate dinner there at Landscapes of Flavor and then headed to our room.
Little Mermaid room!!!!!! LOOK AT THIS ROOM, ISN’T IT NEAT?
The shower curtain, and inside the shower:
Pretty cool. Glad I got to stay there once.
Next morning we were up bright and early to meet our driver… we caught our flight, got home around 10:30AM and made the drive back to Memphis. Got home around 2:30ish. Not bad.
Oh, and as we pulled into the driveway, dad threw out a perfect, “Por favor, mantenganse alejadro de las puertas!” Great ending to a great trip.
Chase and I woke up with head colds that morning that we’re still dealing with. Mom came home and found her bag with both of my parent’s swimsuits, her swimsuit coverup, and her nice gloves was missing out of her suitcase. We’re hoping they fell out at the Contemporary and Lost and Found has them – haven’t heard.
But it was a fabulous trip. I’m already pricing the next one. I’ve got my eye on Beach Club.
