Ew my wordpress updated and the layout is all ugly!
Well here is another Disney trip report. Surprise! We went back to Disney this past weekend. The January trip weather was SO BAD that about halfway through the week, we basically stopped spending money and set it aside to come back another time.
We booked a bounceback deal as soon as we got home in January. It was a pretty good deal and we did also actually fly this time which yall know I hate but for a short trip, we had to.
Thursday we leisurely got up, got ready, finished packing and headed to the airport. There was no line at security, so we were at our gate eating lunch in no time.

I got this Star Wars backpack last year for free with a disney store order, I added this falcon patch to it. I think it turned out pretty cool looking. This was my carry-on plus our park bag. It was a great size for that, bigger than a loungefly but smaller than a normal backpack.
Flight was uneventful except for some bumpy patches. Got our luggage right away, picked up our rental car and headed off to our hotel for that night.

We stayed at Castle Hotel! I had enough marriott points to cover a night here. It was neat!

The pool was pretty and made me wish I’d packed a swimsuit.

I liked the art over the beds.
After a nap and change of clothes we headed off to check out the upstairs rooftop deck at the hotel.

And then it was off to Animal Kindgom Lodge for dinner at Sanaa.

We here!!

Wandered the lobby for a bit, looked at the animals, watched this guy carving which was neat. It was raining by this point so the lobby was crowded!

Went to Victoria Falls Lounge for drinks and appetizers. I got this glowing thing. I don’t even remember what it was, I only got it for the glow cube LOL

We got these crispy potato things that were SO GOOD?? They don’t have a menu for their food online so I can’t even tell you exactly what it was but it was one of the best things we ate all weekend.

And then, onto the bread service. We remembered the lesson we learned last time we ate at Sanaa – we didn’t get any entrees this time. Just bread service, the samosas, and dessert. It was too much food last time!

Dessert
Back to the hotel for the night.

Discovered a chicken nugget in my bag.

Next day, checked out of the Castle Hotel and headed up to Winter Garden for breakfast at a place called Rosallie Le French Cafe. Oh my god it was so good.
Then to Recycling the Magic!

This was so fun. It was like going into a museum where you could buy stuff!

There was a lot I wanted but this is what I got, a little record of the Main st Electrical Parade. May frame it for the Disney staircase.
After that we went to the outlet mall, shopped a bit there, Chase got his scratched sunglasses lenses replaced. I got a really cute Leia spirit jersey at the Disney outlet store (the white one with the “I love you” on the back. Couldn’t convince Chase to get the matching Han “I know” one.)

Headed over to Pop to see if we could check in and change before heading to Disney Springs. Pop being Pop said no, rooms not ready, so we checked our bags and I changed in the public bathroom. And then Pop being Pop I got the notification our room was ready as soon as we pulled into the garage at Disney Springs 15 minutes later.

I wanted these so bad but didn’t want to spend $40?!

Amorette’s for a little snack when we got there. Also got a bao bun at Morimoto street food.

Walked around and shopped, stuff we didn’t get to do in January because it was too miserably cold.
Our dinner wasnt until 7:30 and we were like, we’re gonna get bored by then because it was like 4 and we were already at the tailend of shopping. So I looked to see if we could move our dinner reservation up – score, moved it to 6. But then were like that’s still 2 hours… eh, let’s go see a movie. So we bought tickets and after the previews took like 30 minutes we realized we weren’t going to make our dinner reservation at that point. So I tried to move it back out and the system wouldn’t let me. So we just watched what we could of the movie and left early. Oh well. We’ll finish it another time.

Dinner was at Wolfgang Puck’s which was so good! We’d never been here before so this was a new one for us. I had this rigatoni ragu and it was so good!
Did a little more window shopping, Chase got ice cream.

And then back to Pop to find our room. We were in the 60s section.

And yay our luggage was waiting for us!
First time staying at Pop since they redesigned the rooms. I really like the added functionality in the bathroom area with the added shelving. I love the pull down bed – that’s where I slept since Chase was dealing with shoulder problems. I still really hate how spread out pop is tho. It’s fine for a quick trip but I could not do a week here. My feet would fall off.
Next Day and finally time for the parks proper! I got into my Rizzo disneybound but without the jacket. I folded the jacket up and put it in our park bag, then we put that in a locker when we got there.

Everybody around us had decorated windows and we had nothing, so I put the chicken nugget in our window.

Rainy day but not too bad! We just carried our umbrellas and our shoes didn’t even get soaked. The rain kept the temps manageable. Rode the skyliner over and had breakfast in France. I had the spinach and goat cheese quiche. It was yummy but needed more goat cheese.

Chase had the “quaso” and we shared that strawberry thing.

Pooh had no line so we went to say hi.

Then we walked around the world. Stopped in some stores. One the booths opened we got a few things. I didn’t take pics of it all and now I can’t remember. I know I got the La Vie En Rose slush at France which wasn’t a slush but still good.

And we got this jerk chicken with plantains and rice. We got some kind of snack in Germany… can’t remember.

Once we made it back over to France, we grabbed our bag from the lockers and jumped on the skyliner and went to DHS for a few minutes.

This was literally just for a few pics in my Rizzo outfit one last time before it all closes. I threw the jacket on for some pics.

And with Rizzo himself
Went in to see Muppetvision 3d one more time, sat in the front row (and I COULD SEE THE 3D EFFECT? New contacts FTW!)
After that we left, back to the skyliner and to pop for a quick nap and a change of clothes.

Switched to this Amidala inspired outfit. Got my Amidala ears, shirt and my Women of Star Wars magic band. Also these shoes gave me a blister and heat rash.

Our Magic Kingdom day in January was the one most cut short by the weather – that was the absolute coldest day and it was miserable, so we were making up what we didn’t get to do last time.
I had really wanted another cheeseburger spring roll, a ham and gruyere tart from Gaston’s (and a dole whip. and pretzel bread pudding from Germany in Epcot.) but spaced on getting all of these. I did get a mickey ice cream sandwich and a coke and sit by the castle and vibed for a few minutes.

We shopped, and then went into Tomorrowland because we didn’t even make it over there in January at all!

Peoplemover IMMEDIATELY
We walked back to storybook circus and saw a magician, then came back to main street for dinner at Plaza.

Haven’t eaten here since 2016, so it was nice to be back. I had the pot roast stack, it was good. Chase had a burger and fries. They were good too.

Also I got a shoulder porg.

We got to sit in the sunroom! We had a great server too. She got us a banana split AND a brownie.

Did Carousel of Progress for a little AC and quick nap.

Me disassociating in the hotel room after putting on my costume
At then at long last, it was dark enough we went to get in line for Tron!

Obv didn’t get to do this in Jan. It was about an hour wait, not bad. Chase rode separately to sit in the normal seat.
Embarrassing thing but the girl in front of me was also a single rider. I followed her over and she got on the bike backwards, and me not knowing any better, followed her lead and also got on backwards. The poor CMs were like “hey yall are on backwards” omg. She and both laughed about it and promised we’d never tell anyone, but here I am. It was too funny not to tell!
Anyway it was awesome. Loved it. Too short!

Came out to the tail end of the fireworks.

MK really needs to be open later so you can enjoy this nighttime view longer.

One more Peoplemover ride.

So at this point, fireworks have ended. MK is about to close. I told Chase, let’s go get in line for something else and let the exit crowd die down, but no, he insisted it was time to go, he was tired. So we got to stand in a massive line for the ferry for an hour. We could’ve spent that time in line for Tron again and then walked out to a much shorter monorail or ferry line!

Sunday!

Put on my Padme bound! Immediately discovered the snap placement was too tight and if I raised my arm or moved too much the cape would come unsnapped in the front. Not a big deal just annoying. It was nice to wear no socks and flat shoes today after wearing socks and sneakers all day the day before.

Explaining to Dale that I could not get Chase to wear a matching outfit.

Had “breakfast” at ABC Commissary – we’ve never been there! We always end up at backlot express. This was so good? And AC?! Why do we not go here more often? LOL We’ll definitely be back because the fries were SOO good. Also why aren’t there more breakfast options in DHS? We had to sit and wait on ABC to open to order lunch because there really wasn’t anything else, we didn’t want a Ronto Wrap or Woody’s lunchbox.

Went back to Galaxy’s Edge for shopping and photos.
Much like at Dragoncon, this little handheld/waistband clip belt kept me sane.

Went back over to Launch Bay to do the Visa Vader meet and greet.

Vader gave me a long look up and down when he came around the corner to get us, it was funny.

More shopping, another ice cream sandwich, Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway, Star Tours, and Chase actually dragged me to see the Indiana Jones stunt show. We sat at the far end but it was nice to sit under those big fans and cool off for a bit.

Had a Maleficent cone.

Got to see @eillyboo!! It was so great to get to meet her after we’ve been IG friends for so long! We also talked about the gorgeous Hoth Leia doll, and… I did it.

Chase got this, I got the Violet Lemonade.
We hoofed it around to Guardians for our Lightning Lane. I really had to convince Chase to ride this with me, but he finally agreed… and he liked it! yay!! We got One Way or Another this time.
After that we took the Friendship boat over to Morocco so we’d have to walk less. It was really hot by that point, and my little black handheld fan had died, so I switched to my backup – one of those around the neck fans. I didn’t like this one as much. It didn’t blow much air at you even on high and… after about an hour it died. Even though it was fully charged. So I got HOT. We stopped in America to cool off.
Then walked on over to Italy to check in for Tutto Italia. Apparently you can’t do it on the app, so we went up to the hostess and checked in there where chase was like 99% sure she wrote down his phone number wrong and asked her to make sure and she was like “yes it’s right, we’ll text you.” So I could not cool off so we went up into one of the stores to get some AC and I still couldn’t cool off, so we went and got a bottle of water which finally helped. It was past our reservation time by then so Chase went inside past the hostess to ask and they were like shocked and apologized because… the phone number they texted was wrong! They sat us immediately.

Happiness is me eating ALL OF THIS LASAGNA
Chase got his usual tiramisu for dessert. After dinner the sun was lower so it was much cooler. We walked back through the remaining countries to the skyliner and headed out.

Look I know during busy times they are gonna stick strangers in the skyliner with you but it’s always so awkward? Like having strangers sit at a dinner table with you LOL On the way back we had 2 other couples in with us, 3 groups total. It was so awkward and quiet the whole time LOL
Got back to Pop and went inside to get snacks. Then back to the room to pack up. I was dead asleep by 9pm.
Up the next morning, finish up packing, and we loaded up the car and headed to the Polynesian for breakfast.

Haven’t had Kona Cafe in a minute. Twas good.

Much like John Lennon, when you have important paperwork to sign, you do it at the Polynesian.
LOL Backstory: on our flight into Orlando, the TSA agent pointed out we never signed our passports. (We were using our passports since we haven’t gotten Real IDs yet) How this wasn’t pointed out on our cruise last year I don’t know. So we decided we’d sign them in the hotel room, since hotel rooms always have a pin and paper right? Well not at Pop Century apparently. So once we got the check at Kona, we signed our passports with the server’s pen before heading to the airport.

Got to the airport, returned the rental, and again had no line at security. Got to our gate, got some fries and waited on our flight. We had good seats! I slept most of the flight. Got home and as we were waiting on our luggage, the conveyor belt broke. A guy came to fix it. It started up again for a minute and then stopped again. Took forever to get our luggage, but at last we did and headed home.
My feet hurt, I still have this blister, my face feels dry as the desert after wearing sunscreen and makeup and being in the sun all weekend. But I am happy!
Going back when? I dunno. We want to do a split Universal/Disney trip at some point. Maybe 2 days at Universal, 4 at Disney? Take Kevin back and this time make sure he’s had some exercise and is ready to walk this time. I really want to do Wilderness Lodge. Or Poly again.
Anyway let’s talk about contacts! Because I wore them all weekend and it was FINE?! Hooray! I got my actual RX ones last Saturday and tested them out on Sunday and they sucked. My eyes wouldn’t adjust, so I just had a bad feeling it wouldn’t work for the trip. But I doubled down and left my real glasses at home, put my contacts in Thursday morning before we left home, and just carried my cheap readers if I needed to read my phone for more than few minutes. And it was FINE! HOORAY! It’s still not 100% but I was functional with no glasses on, moreso than I would’ve been without contacts or glasses. I wore them all weekend except the day we came home! Only hiccup was Sunday it was like I had something in my contact causing a little blurry spot. I tried to wash it out with some of my contact eyedrops but it didn’t help, so I just had to live with it. Monday for the flight I didn’t put them in, just went without glasses or contacts but had my readers for my phone and that was OK too.
So that’s all good news. In other good news, I didn’t have a migraine all weekend?! I have gotten a migraine after every flight and/or during every vacation for the last 20 years. And I didn’t get one this weekend. HOORAY!!! Although I did wake up with one today, so clearly I’m not out of the woods there, but progress is progress.
I came home to my trim fabric so I’m working on that tonight. Hoping I can finish up “Dark Lady” this weekend. More on Monday.
