I really don’t have much of anything at all to share this week, I almost was like, nah no reason to post this week, I’ll save the handful of things I have for next week’s post. But I figured I ought to check in before the surgery later this week.
I’m SO excited. Not for like surgery but just for the end result. And less anxious than I normally am because I feel like I chose this, like I had some agency here and it’s not something I’m being forced to do.
I had a migraine pretty much all weekend thanks to the crazy weather. My last couple of migraines have been extra bad and I’m curious if it’s because of the bp meds I’m on now interacting with my migraine meds. Either way migraine seems to be over now just in time to go back to work š
I did something in my sewing room! But it’s nothing permanent LOL
Mom found a great fabric option for her Luxwana costume, but it was in the UK and measured in meters. So I got out this pink fabric and measured and marked out meters and pleated it around my dressform similar to the costume she’s doing so we could figure out how many meters she needed. Since it was coming from overseas we didn’t want to short it but also didn’t want to overbuy.
Speaking of, here’s my collection of Troi swatches so far.
There were a couple more but they were total “nos” so they already got put away in the swatch book.
I’m leaning towards upper left or the one on the far right. The colour of that costume changes so much between screencaps, I’m sure due to lighting, etc. But also curious if they remade that dress a few times in a slightly different toned spandex like they did with the uniforms. I have a shot of this dress (or one of them?) from an auction in 2004 and it’s GREEN GREEN. Not sure if that’s how it actually was during filming and it just looks different on camera/set lighting, or maybe the spandex colour faded over time? Either way not going to go that super green because I don’t think that’s the colour in peoples’ minds. I have a few more swatches coming today and then I’m going to decide.
In the meantime I’m devastated over Joann Fabrics, and racking my brain over anything I may need to go get. I think I may get enough jetset for another Leia costume because I have been thinking of remaking it later this year.
