I think I have finally decided what to take to Huntsville:
1. Honeymoon Leia
2. Packing Padme
3. Chip & Dale
4. Sailor Jupiter
And I may also throw Seven in since she doesn’t take up a lot of room, so no big deal if I don’t get around to wearing her. Based on last year I don’t think I’ll have time for more than 4, especially since we’re not going over Sunday at all.
I don’t really have much costume progress to show yall this week. I did start pulling out costumes on Saturday for Huntsville. I’ve got the main parts out just need to dig out accessories.
I did discover that my brand “new” packing padme shoes I got last year and haven’t even gotten to wear yet are flaking apart on the inside. I put them on for my Star Trek dress video (more on that in a minute) and when I took them off my feet were BLACK. EW BROTHER EW. Thankfully it’s only the inside and not the outside. I’ll have to wear some little slipper socks with them at huntsville.
I did mess around a bit with starting to figure out the Padme costume.
I never even thought about how similar this cape/sleeve situation is to Breha’s costume I made last year. I really wish I’d kept my mockup panel now! But I cut it up for other things so now I have to figure out the shape again. It is slightly different, there’s a seam in the front on Padme and a seam in the back on Breha, and the lengths are different. But sure would’ve been nice to have a starting point.
I decided I needed a fabric that would be more similar to my actual fabric so I ordered some cheap knit that’ll be here wednesday, then I’ll dig back into this.
Here’s my Star Trek dress from Pop Galaxy!! It arrived Monday last week, a day early so that was exciting! I threw it on for a quick unboxing video. It’s so cute and comfy! I can’t wait to wear it somewhere.
So yeah beyond all that I didn’t do much last week. Chase got my necklace pieces for Leia printed, next is the buckle, and then painting and I can finish up Leia.
This weekend was busy with easter stuff, and I had a migraine all late last week and through the weekend and up to today still. It’s the weather shifting.

The trophy Ash and I won at Akon 2003 (2nd place overall I think it was?). It broke on the way home from Akon and I tried to fix it once but it didn’t work. I should try again now that’s back in my possession. I’d like to think I’ve learned a little bit more about glue in the last 21 years.
Sunday was second Easter lunch
I have some printed patterns that need to be taped together and I planned to do that last night, but I was so tired I skipped it. I had a late nap, Chase and I had leftovers for dinner and then we watched a movie.

I’m really really loving drawing on the ipad in procreate. Getting a pen tip helped enormously. It feels more like actual drawing (vs a wacom tablet) but with the perks of an undo button. I just need to make myself watch some painting tutorials – shading is the one thing I’m still really struggling with though I’m pretty happy with this one.
So anyway this week… more Padme mockup work, get the Shin and Baylan patterns put together and maybe get a mockup of both cut, finish up Leia. No plans next weekend and I hope to keep it that way, the last 2 weekends have been busy busy.
