My patreon finally has some content on it! Going forward I’ll be saving my instagram story breakdowns over there after they’ve expired on IG, and I have a slightly more “walk through” recap of my new Leia dress construction so far up over there, too.
I plan on doing this with all of my costumes – more in-depth, step-by-step instruction as well as the breakdown videos. If I can think of something else to put over there, I will.
And when I redo my Leia hair tutorials I’ll have those up over there as well – likely public since I’ve already had the old ones public here for a while.
Anyway, this Leia hem is killing me. I have worked on this for the past 3 nights. Everytime I think I’ve got it, I flip it back around and it’s not right. The first time I just did the upper points of the side slits wrong – I wasn’t thinking. Realized my mistake, flipped it back out, removed the stitching, redid it, flipped it again… and the layers weren’t sitting right. The outer layer was sewn up too high cause a burble.
What is a burble? I don’t actually know, but it seems like a burble.
So flipped back out again, took the stitching out AGAIN, got it all pinned back together without the burble, sewn back up, flipped, and…

This side looks pretty good! Just needs pressed!

WTF is that. I’m calling it a snigget because I don’t know what else to call it.
I flipped it around AGAIN and even though everything looked right on the inside, I’d clipped my seam allowance down, no weirdness to be seen…. I took the stitching out AGAIN and resewed it AGAIN a little further in to see if that got rid of the snigget.
And did it? I dunno. I haven’t felt like flipping it right side out AGAIN. I’m so tired of flipping this thing.
But before I did that, I’d decided to iron the lower hem just to get a better visual because without it being pressed it looked weird. Looked great after a pressing, but while I was doing that, I got to one end and…

WTF.
This stupid little flower has been hanging around the floor of my sewing room for a couple of days. Luna was playing with it Monday. And at some point during a flip I guess it got stuck inside. At least I noticed this before I closed it up. LORD.

STUPID FLOWER
So hopefully when I flip it right side out tonight it’s RIGHT finally and I can finish pressing the lower section and then do the sleeves. I was supposed to be done with all of this on Sunday.
