Finding Tobey, more pics

Another busy weekend!!

Friday night we had the Indie Memphis red carpet event! So Thursday night I washed my hair and put it up in curlers. Got up the next morning and it was rainy and humid and I knew if I took them down before work, my curls would be GONE by that night. So I left my curlers in and went to work LOL

MY TIKI BIRD DRESS CAME IN THURSDAY!! Just in time! Also got new shoes. Hair turned out cute!

I was trying to go for Zooey Deschanel but I think it started looking a little bit like I should be holding some Christmas lights and screaming for Will, but I’m ok with that too.

Super happy with my Tiki bird dress. It fit great, was super comfy, has pockets. So glad to finally have this thing! I had wanted to buy it when we went to Disney back in April but they were sold out of… pretty much everything. It was a little like pulling teeth to get Disney to actually SHIP the dress to me (I ordered it 10/19… they still hadn’t shipped by 10/27, was told they have a 5-7 window for just shipping it OUT… promised it was shipping 10/27. Didn’t get tracking until 10/28. It didn’t actually get picked UP until 10/30! Then was supposed to be here 11/1, but post office changed it to 11/2. So by the skin of my teeth.)

The only issue I had was that the straps were a little too long. So I Friday afternoon I grabbed it and sat down at my machine to take them up, and discovered…

ADJUSTABLE STRAPS! Omg!
So that was nice, I just moved it up to the next buttonhole and it was perfect.

Then Chase got home, I put half a can of GOT2B on my hair and we headed out.

Hey I felt pretty cute so I actually took a bunch of snapchat selfies.

Got there, parked, went and picked up our badges and swag bags, which were SUPER nice! Soap, cookies, popcorn.

And we got t-shirts and car magnets, too.

It was mostly still nice outside, but started to get a little chilly in the wind so I had to add my sweater.

Chase on the red carpet!

Then once everybody was done with interviews, and we’d had a few finger foods and listened to a proclamation from the mayor, we walked around the corner and ate at Babaloo.

By the end of the night my feet HATED me and my hair had fallen significantly.

My cute new shoes were a little tight and rubbed a blister on the SIDE of my foot. Ugh!

Saturday Chase had his one weekend a year he has to work (yearly inventory at his office), so I went to help paint backdrops for the play.

I also cleaned up my sewing room to get it “reset” for my next project. (new ANH Leia!)

Chase got home and he’d gotten a box from Amazon… and it had presents in it!

He got me the Stitch license plate cover I’ve been wanting for AGES and the Wonder Woman sword and shield hair clips!!
I wore the hair clips out that night – we went to see Thor Ragnarok. I enjoyed it, it was cute. My only beef? I swear they had the AC down to like 60 degrees in there. I was FREEZING and I was wearing jeans and a sweatshirt! I was only like 70 degrees out so why have the AC blasting so high? I was uncomfortable the entire movie.

Sunday I threw on Bespin Leia, gathered up my costume portfolio and took it over to my grandma’s. I promised her I would come visit for Halloween and just didn’t have time, so I went yesterday. She’d been wanting to see my Bespin Leia, so I wore that – and she said to me last time I saw her “I wish I could see all your costumes!” so I brought her my portfolio to look through. We had fun flipping through them and she said, “Where’d you learn all this from?!” I said “from you!” and she said, “I’ve created a monster!”

Then we sat around and reminisced about my grandpa, old stores, and I told her about the play and promised her we’d have somebody bring her to see it.

Then back home to get ready for the Finding Tobey showing!!

I almost wore Tiki Bird again but my feet would NOT have let me wear those shoes again and besides I have a couple of cute new dresses mom got for me, too.

Finding Tobey was showing at PLAYHOUSE ON THE SQUARE! How exciting!

By the time the movie started I think we got about half full. And the crowd was great, laughing and clapping and really into it.

To see Chase’s hard work (4 years worth of work!) up on a real movie screen in a real theater was SO EXCITING!

Then they had a Q&A afterwards.

We decided to just walk over to Babaloo again for dinner LOL. Got home and we were both EXHAUSTED. It all went really well though. I’m so proud!

And in other news I have the rest of the white backdrop shots uploaded.

I posted Dorothy last time… so here’s Hermione:

Crimping my braids didn’t really work all that great, I had to just tease the mess out of it. But it looked ok in most shots.

My sweater now has multiple holes in it šŸ™ They’re all tiny and could probably be darned. But the sweater is 13 years old now. I think it’s time to retire it and buy a new ravenclaw one.

Speaking of Ravenclaw… Luna would NOT stay out of the shots.

I think she’s in nearly half of all of my Hermione pics.

Then I teased my hair some more, added some white stripes and put on Dr F:

Unfortunately I A) couldn’t find the boots I normally wear with this and B) didn’t think about my hair covering my Deep13 patch in every single photo. But they turned out OK.

Then Galadriel:

And I did Edith last since it was a makeup change:

“I heard you the first time.”

So now I just need to get the outdoor Anne pics uploaded, hopefully that’ll be in a day or two.
