So yes, I’m doing DragonCon this year. A little more than last year but still not going up to the full week we used to do. Planning on driving in Friday morning and home Sunday night, staying in Cat’s room. Ash is probably going with me, Chase is staying home.
So at the moment I’m thinking of taking:
Bespin Leia – still need to tweak it
Mon Mothma
TFA Blue Dress Leia
Big Pink Fluffy Thing, IF I CAN EVER GET MY SWATCHES
Dolores – I’d like to get a new wig for it. Or at least restyle mine.
Disgust – Big ole maybe. I haven’t worn it since MidSouthcon. I love it but it’s a lot of work to get into and a lot of work to get out of so I dunno.
A couple of comfy easy costumes – Trillian, Donna wedding dress, Romana I sans cape maybe.
I’m in a little bit of a quandary over my hair/wigs.
Obviously right now I’m currently brunette – I did that just for Bespin Leia/Celebration. I planned to go back to red over the summer originally. But now I’m thinking about keeping it a while longer – so my hair is still brunette for Bespin Leia and I could also do Trillian without a wig.
But I’m kinda holding out to see Catherine Tate is maybe a guest this year?? Billie Piper is going to be there (if she doesn’t cancel). If Catherine Tate comes then I’m going back to red, because I want to get my pic with her while I’m Unicorn & the Wasp and I use my real hair for that – don’t want to try to recreate it with a wig.
I have a hair appt the wednesday before dcon so I have until then to make a decision. Well, kinda, if I decide to do red I’m going to have to get new extensions for Bespin Leia and I’ll have to try to do that before then. But you get my drift.
I’m going to try to keep the costume count around 8. That should be manageable.
Also have to consider costumes I can get into by myself if Ash doesn’t come. Cat will be busy working. I’ve gotten into Dolores’ corset by myself before so I think I can do that again. I should be able to do the bodice for the fluffy thing too, that’s not going to be anything major. Boy that would be weird, being at Dcon by myself. Well, by myself until cat gets “off work” each day. (Which is like, never. I ended up on the street behind the Marriott at 11pm holding chairs for her, while in full Edith costume. LOL but she enjoys it.)
