Christmas tree!

So Thursday night Chase had a meeting but I really wanted to decorate the house for Christmas, so I attempted to do it on my own. Everything kinda went ok, I managed to get the tree up by myself and got all the lights on. And then I decided I hated all the lights so, so much.

The problem with our Christmas tree lights is we always only buy 1 or 2 packs of them and then it’s not really enough to cover the tree. Either the back of the tree is barren or it looks like we put like one strand of lights on. So this year I’m like, I’m going to put every single string of lights we have on and see if that looks better. Well, it didn’t, it looked like a giant sloppy mess and I was frustrated.

So Friday we went to see Fantastic Beasts (loved it!) and to Target to get new lights. This time we bought 3 packs of 100 lights so we had plenty! And I added our white lights and stars to them too, so I was finally happy with it.

We also got a new tree topper! Target didn’t have much left to choose from in the way of tree toppers, but we got one we liked ok and it has lights, yay!

We haven’t been able to put breakable ornaments on the tree since getting Luna, since the first Christmas we had her she spent the entire month of December attempting to climb the tree. (Somewhere I have a photo of her IN the tree and trying to eat it) We didn’t have any incidents last year — she would pull some ornaments off the bottom but no climbing, so this year I put a few breakables on. Fingers crossed.

Robin Hood was my pick, Dale was Chase’s. Yeah we would have liked to have gotten Chip AND Dale but that would have been a little more than we wanted to spend!

I had some trouble with my ceramic Christmas tree. For some reason it won’t sit in the base correctly this year. I don’t remember having any problems with it last year.

But it’s very unsturdy. I went to take it off the base to show mom and broke the light bulb inside, too 🙁 Thankfully it was a 2 pack of bulbs so I have a replacement, but still haven’t figured out why it’s not sitting right. I didn’t leave it up for now – the tree is in the guestroom until we figure it out.

Oh and we finally got Luna a stocking!

On the local news Saturday. Maybe the dog wouldn’t be so angry if you didn’t make him wear pants and a sweater!
