Had a fun and busy weekend. We went up to Jackson Friday night to stay with my grandparents, had dinner at Cracker Barrel and drove Mema crazy with Snapchat.
Catty Bob
Saturday morning we did a bit of shopping. I got some fabric. Then it was time to head over to the ballpark for Star Wars night.
The weather cleared up and we had a great turnout.
So many little girls excited to see Star Wars characters!
My Fujifilm Instax camera arrived Thursday so I took it up to Jackson with us and we tried it out at the game:
Post-Leia hair is always the best
Our little gallery (just a bunch of iphone photos and me playing with snapchat, really) is here!
Sunday we came on home and I got moving on Edith again… I bit the bullet and dug into the 2nd sleeve finally, and got it pretty much finished!
Once I got all of the pieces actually sewn together and sewn onto the yoke/collar sections, I realized I was having some movement issues. At first I thought the lower sleeve openings were too tight, but then I eventually realized it was that the back yoke piece was a bit too small.
So I cut it open in the center and added a small panel of some scrap white stretch knit. It helped immensely.
I was feeling so excited about that being done that I finished sewing the dress panels together and quickly pleated them around the bottom of the yoke:
Tonight I want to lay the entire thing out flat and properly pleat it to the yoke and maybe, hopefully, get it sewn in place?
I am a touch disappointed by how NOT see-through it is. One piece on its own is very see-through but once you layer them up, it’s not at all. I guess I should have figured that — I just went with this fabric choice because I felt like it would be the most sheer, over one that had more of a crinkle effect. Oh well, this will still be a fun costume.
