It’s actually pretty difficult to plan multiple trips at once, but with the way you have to schedule eveeeeeeeryting in advance now it’s unavoidable. I was already planning Trip 2 before we even left for Trip 1, and now that we’re coming up on Trip 2, I have Trips 3 and 4 in motion. You should see how ridiculously long my Dining Reservations list is!
Anyway, Trip 2! Trip 2 is a special trip. We are going to go to Megacon that Saturday, which I’m very excited for since we haven’t been since 2009. I’m planning on wearing Edith… provided I get moving on actually making the dumb costume. (That’s another post for another day. Hoping to make some headway this weekend)
But that’s not really why it’s a special trip – for this trip, we are taking Kevin… and he has NO IDEA! He knows we are going to Orlando for Megacon. But we told him we can’t go to Disney World too because it’s just too expensive. “Maybe we can go to Disney Springs for dinner one night,” I told him. A few weeks ago his mom asked him if he’d rather go to his summer camp or Disney World. He apparently remembered what I told him about it just being too expensive and told her, “Hmmmm… maybe camp because Disney World is just too expensive.” (He’s going to get to do both! He’s going to WDW with us and then home for 2 weeks and then camp!)
It’s also close enough to his birthday that we are going to celebrate it there! We’ll get him a birthday button and friends are sending birthday cards for him to open at our first dinner there. It’ll be so much fun.
Speaking of dinner, our food plans for that trip are:
Whispering Canyon Cafe – never been here, I’m looking forward to it!
Crystal Palace (Breakfast) – another new one for us, one I’ve always wanted to eat at. This is the only character dining we are doing this trip – I’d have loved to take Kevin to a Princess breakfast but we didn’t want to do CRT on the dining plan (2 credits, ouch) and we thought he’d think it was cooler to eat at Magic Kingdom over Akershus in Epcot. When we originally made this reservation, it would have been getting into the park before it opened… now they changed the schedule and it’s not, but I fixed that with another reservation…
50’s Primetime Cafe – another new one for us! We rarely sit down to eat at Hollywood Studios (been to Sci-Fi Dine in a few times and Mama Melrose’s once) so I’m excited to try something new here.
Tutto Italia – we’ve eaten here a gazillion times but had to book it again, it’s Chase’s fav place and Kevin looooooooves his spaghetti, so it was unavoidable!
Be Our Guest (Breakfast) – after we realized they’d changed the opening time of MK the day of our Crystal Palace breakfast, I went hunting to see if I could find a BOG breakfast reservation for Sunday. I found one, and for pre-opening! Yay! So, fingers crossed they don’t move it up again, but even if they do, I think Kevin will love getting to eat in Beast’s castle. We’ve had lunch and dinner here, but not breakfast, so it should be interesting.
Rose & Crown – we ALWAYS eat at Rose and Crown but we skipped it last trip… so back we go again this time around š
My plan is to have my video camera on recording Kevin as we drive up to the Walt Disney World sign. He won’t like, freak out or anything but I know he’ll be excited.
Kevin has a thing about always knowing what we are doing or where we are going… “Kevin, get up and get dressed, we gotta go” “Where are we going?” “The grocery store” “And what are we doing after the grocery store?” “Don’t worry about it just get dressed” 2 minutes later “Where are we going after the grocery store?” “Target” “And where are we going after Target” “Home” 5 minutes later “Where are we going again?” I’m not telling him anywheeeeere we’re going even after we get there. He’s just going to have to be surprised at every fastpass, dining reservation, etc.
Anyway, I’m super excited. We paid the trip off last week. It can’t come soon enough (except for the fact I need to finish my costume)
Oh! Speaking of which, I’m also making a Disneybound costume. Yeah I finally got sucked in. And it’s Leia. I may be crazy for wanting to wear all white to a theme park but I’m going to take a jacket with me to cover up while eating or to sit on when I have to sit on the ground. I’m making the top, got my shorts already, I want to try to make a necklace… and I just need shoes. I wanted to do a Disneybound for Kevin as Luke, but everything I came up with either looked like “cult member” or “college frat boy” so I think we’re just going to buy him an X-Wing pilot shirt and he’ll be pleased with that.
And since I’m here and going on about it… Trip 3!
Trip 3 is a much shorter trip, even shorter than our March trip. And one of the days we are going to spend at Typhoon Lagoon. We are just building a “quick” weekend around 4th of July. Since it’s the weekend of the 4th, I tried to book our dining in with the “theme”:
Plaza – this is pretty much our favourite place in Magic Kingdom, we’ll start the weekend with burgers, fries and shakes.
Beaches & Cream – a new one for us! This’ll be our dinner after being at the waterpark most of the day.
Liberty Tree Tavern – Dinner on 4th of July. So excited!
We just need to book our hotel for that trip. We’ve been sticking with Pop Century recently (2014, March 2015, and we have it booked for May too) because it’s cheap and we’d rather spend the money elsewhere. But we are looking at doing a moderate for this time around, maybe Coronado or Port Orleans Riverside. We’ll see.
