So as I mentioned I completely screwed up the front of my Romana dress and had to order more fabric to re-do it (so; in case you’re counting, that’s 16 yards worth of fabric I’ve poured into this dress thus far.)
I remade the front section yesterday; I decided to do the pleated section has a separate piece on top of the dress, since that was the whole problem I had the first time around; couldn’t get it to look right when it was part of the dress. So even though it’s not right, I’m going with what’s easiest now, because I don’t feel like messing with it anymore!
So anyway, here’s the basic dress now:

I’m about to go work on the pleated sections now. I haven’t attached the sleeves yet, because I think I want to add a piece into the seam to lengthen them, they’re a little short.
I also got shoes for another costume for $5 off ebay.

And they’re some of the best-fitting shoes I’ve ever gotten off ebay. Yay! AND they’re stretchy, and I can pull them on without unzipping them, which means I can just sew the zipper up and build the boot cover over the top of it without worrying about needing to get to the zip.
