I hope everyone had a great holiday weekend. After four days of sleeping in, it was really hard to get up and come to work this morning.
Saturday we went to Chris & Leah’s wedding in Nashville. It was really pretty – wish we could have stayed longer but we drove back home that night. It was a fun quick little road trip and we listened to Goblet of Fire the whole way. It’s going to take several road trips for us to get through all of it!
Anyway, mom bought me this dress last summer and I’ve never gotten to wear it, so I was excited to wear it Saturday:
Sunday! We cleaned house and that night, we went to see Paul McCartney! It was SO good. I hardly remember anything about the first time I saw him, and getting to share it with Chase was great.
He did two encores, ending the last one with Golden Slumber/Carry That Weight/The End. It was SO SO cool.
Yesterday we had a cookout with my parents and had too much food, and watched A Hard Day’s Night. It was great.
Anyway, I got a lot of sewing done this weekend. It was mostly a LOT of hand-sewing, but the dress is nearing completion.
Here it is while watching MST3K: Rocketship X-M on Sunday:
And watching Sidehackers on Monday:
And Jungle Goddess last night:
I’ve got the faux piping/seam done in along the hips, and the extra pleated sections sewn in to the sides. I’ve still got a center pleated panel to put in.
Then, I need to finish the sleeves (one is done, the other is not), get them put in, hem everything that isn’t hemmed, and press all those pleats, and it’s done. Then I’ll have to figure out the brooch thing, and do my cape.
