More Hocus Pocus Progress

Here’s what I’ve been working on!

Starting on my Sarah costume... skirt panels are sewn together, but just pinned in place. Back part of the skirt just draped on. The basic corset is put together, but not shown here - the outer silk layer is just pinned onto the dressform to see how it is all looking together.Kelldar.com | My Facebook Page | Tumblr | Instagram
My Hocus Pocus costume is coming along. I’m doing the Sarah Sanderson costume – my cousin is being Winnie and Ash is being Mary. I’m making all three; I’ve only done some research and scouting for fabric on the other two so far, but I’ve nearly got everything bought for mine, and a good chunk of progress made.

I started out on the bodice – dyed some silk and cotton for the lining, and I’ve got the pieces cut. I just pinned the outer layer on the dressform to see how it was looking – since this pic I’ve gotten the layers sewn together and the channels for the boning marked.
I made an underskirt of some leftover red material, and I’m going to layer that red eyelet material over the top. It’s a little long so I’m going to cut the top edge off and sew it on closer to the bottom. I found the green suede which I’m going to use for the side pieces – it’s just pinned on, haven’t cut it or anything yet.
I still need to find some red tassels for the bottom of the skirt, and purple fabric to add to the side pieces. I have my fabric for the sleeves (hopefully), I’m going to wait to make them after I finish the bodice. I think I’ve got enough embroidery thread to do the floral designs on there – and then I get to weather everything šŸ™‚
