First up, Supergirl.
My plan was to wear Supergirl all Thursday night; I ended up wearing it for about 20 minutes because I wanted to put on Donna.
So now that Supergirl was out of the way (LOL) I wore Donna the rest of the night – there were so many Doctor Who people around and with K9 out, it was really fun.
Friday morning I got to wear Marie Antoinette, and Chase and I did a photoshoot over at Hardy Ivy:
I really love this costume, can’t wait to wear it again. (I also have a few pieces I’ve been slowly collecting for her Silence in the Library oufit, so I guess I’ll do that one eventually, too.)
After a quick cool down I put on Hippolyta. We went outside to take a few pics…
I didn’t get to wear it long, though, because I melted out of it: I use toupee tape to hold the crown on and it was popping off, and the velcro holding my chestpiece on had also popped off the inside!
Saturday night I wore Valkyrie: another one I didn’t get to wear long.
I was happy with everything except the wig – I had braided it on a wighead and it ended up being slightly too small, so I had to stretch it to get it on, and it kinda messed up. It’s a simple fix of unbraiding it and braiding it while I have it on my head instead. I also miiight dye the cape darker – to look more like my reference.
I was just exhausted by this point and having to walk around with that belt and the giant sword and wig hair in my way was driving me crazy (earlier in the day we had done a triathlon with K9 and I don’t think Chase or I ever recovered.) so I changed out it before I really wanted to.
I wore the new Ms Marvel the rest of the night.
Sunday morning I wore Enchantress – I only have one pic so far, as Chase is finishing them up.
(New crown, updated bodice, shorter skirt.)
After Enchantress I went to put on Rogue so we could walk around the dealer’s rooms again, but as I was pulling the shoes on, the shoe part broke away from the heel part. The fabric kept them from completely falling apart, but it was uncomfortable to walk in, especially on my already sore feet. So we just took some pics and it’s going on the “Repair for GMX” list.
And finally my last costume for the weekend was my secret TARDIS version of Marie Antoinette.
I also want to make new windows that aren’t so wrinkly looking.
All that aside, this was incredibly fun to wear and the reception made my weekend.
Anyway, I’ve got my costume site nearly updated; I’ve just got to write my Marie Antoinette stuff but everything else is up.
