It was so good! I didn’t cry, thought I would. Like so many people I’ve spent so many years with Harry, it’s been such a part of my life – so I’m sad it’s over.
I was the only person dressed up when Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone opened here 10 years ago (in my robe with my homemade paper patch and USC red and yellow striped cotton tie! I’ve worn the same basic robe to every movie, just changed out the rest of the costume). This time all the theaters at the Paradiso were sold out and there were so many people in costume! In our particular theater we had a couple of Hagrids, a Fawkes, a Patronus, a Lockhart and too many students to count. 75% of them must have been 7 or 8 or 9 when the first movie came out. People were waving in their wands in the air and so excited… honestly it put the Revenge of the Sith premiere at the same theater there a few years ago to shame.
Kevin wore all of his new Harry Potter stuff – he looked great. We went and had pizza beforehand and a family got their picture with us – and showed me a pic of their daughter on their cellphone, who was dressed up as Hagrid at a theater down in GA.
Here’s me, Kevin, Lauren and Ashley last night:
Chase got some pics of me and Kevin before we left the house, too, haven’t gotten them yet tho.
This weekend – WORK! I got fabric showing up on my doorstep today (hopefully), going to knock stuff out.
