Honestly I kinda feel really bad we didn’t stay at Megacon very long at all. I missed seeing a lot of people I wanted to see and just didn’t really have time to enjoy it.
But — like I said in previous posts, Silk Spectre was fun to wear. Starfire was a giant FAIL… and the makeup remover I used to take the orange stuff off irritated my skin, that sucked. My feet basically hurt all weekend. We did actually go to the con Sunday before we left and spent some time (in regular clothes) and got to enjoy it a little more.
But anyway – Chase sent me most of the pics. I went through the raw files and found some he missed so I’ll be uploading a few more into this set later. Here’s the link.
And here’s a few more pics.
First here’s Kevin and Scott – Kevin wearing his new Ebay-bought Luke jedi costume, and Scott in Kevin’s old farmboy Luke.
I’ve got a few more pics of Kevin. He loved the costume and had a great time wearing it. Unfortunately during the time we were there we didn’t see a single Slave Leia to get his picture with š Guess we’ll have to take him to the next Celebration for that LOL
Couple of Zatanna pics – nice to have some in daylight LOL
And some more Silk Spectre pics. I was really pleased with how this came out – the wig got a little smushed in shipping. Between that and seeing the movie, I want to spruce it up and re-do the back curls (make them tighter, move them back a little so you can see my ears) before I wear it at midSouthcon next weekend.
Next weekend is midsouthcon. I’m going to wear Black Canary during the day and change to Silk Spectre that night. I was going to wear a Leia since I’m on the 501st/Rebel Legion panel that day, but friday I got my hair cut off short and I don’t think I can get it up into any of the Leia styles LOL So oh well I’ll just be Black Canary at the panel.
Saturday I was at hancock’s getting something for Chase and just out of curiousity I looked to see if they had anymore of that blue fabric I used for the school play Belle peasant dress a few weeks ago – they still had the whole bolt, so since it was on sale I bought myself 5 yards. I want to do this version in 2 parts, so Monday night I made the skirt – it’s finished except adding a hook-and-eye at the waistband. Tonight I’m going to work on the top. I also picked up a pattern for my new Black Canary jacket. And being a busy little bee I also pulled out my Padme nightgown from 3 years ago and worked on it some more! Yay. LOL.
For Leia a good do for having short hair is Hoth/Rebel Cruiser/Endor. Just take Your own hair & tuck it all up under the lower part of the cluster of braids at the base of the skull.
Your Silk Spectre is just wonderful. You did such a great job, and look excellent in the role.
I love all of your costumes! You put so much effort into each one and the thing that impresses me even more is that you completely finish yours (I’m horrible at hemming, so I usually just leave things unfinished, meh.)
Hooray for Kelldar!!!
Hooray for Kelldar and her costuming awesomeness!!!
