…and I’m going home to snow. It hasn’t snowed in Memphis all year (except for a light dusting that lasted less than a day in Jan), and now that I’m leaving Florida, what does it do? 6 inches! Yuck!
Anyway. Confession time: we hardly spent any time at the convention. Friday we left around the time we planned to go to Epcot (around 1), but yesterday, when we were going to stay all day, we ended up leaving at 1 again. The con itself was great… it was just Chase and his brother had never been to Disney at all before — so we all decided we wanted to go back to one of the parks (epcot again, we didn’t get through it on friday as you can imagine).
Friday I wore Silk Spectre I and was really pleased with how it turned out. I’ll get to pics tomorrow most likely. Haven’t found any yet. The boots were KILLER. I think I would have been “ok” in them longer if I hadn’t trooped around Disney all day the day before.
Yesterday (Saturday) I was supposed to wear Starfire – but as I was 90% in to it I discovered a costume malfunction that could not be fixed. I was a SAD monkey. I’ll get into it more when I post pics but basically my chestpiece was un-wearable and I didn’t bring the right materials to go without and it and tape the suit to my chest. (plus Chase didn’t want me doing that). So I wore Zatanna, all the while wishing I’d been able to fit Sleeping Beauty in my box or tossed in Black Canary at the last minute like I had thought about. (especially with those shoes, which I knew were going to hurt, but after 2 days of Disney and several hours of Silk Spectre boots, it was pretty much a no-go).
Anyway Saturday was way more crowded and was near impossible to move around the exhibit hall. With my feet hurting and everyone else feeling just kinda “eh,” we headed out.
We are going back today, though none of us in costume since we have to check out by 11, and I’ve already packed my box up LOL
I did buy a couple of things – I finally found the Ame-Comi Wonder Woman, yay! And the Silk Spectre I action figure.
Kevin’s Luke costume looked great. Belt needs finished and some adjusting. He had an awesome time wearing it.
I’ll post more when I get the pics downloaded, both here and my regular journal since I’ll talk about Disneyworld too. I did take (crappy) cell phone pics all weekend and sent them to flickr if you want to look at them.
You totally should have went to my park (Animal Kingdom). It’s because of me living there, doing stilts for parade, I had to bow out of MegaCon.
Are you at Megacon? Because I’m right over at the Rosen Center, across from you, at Community Colleges for International Development. I hope you had a great time! I felt odd, somehow, not being there, and being one of those conventioneers that stares at the oddly dressed people!
