This week has been very hectic at work, I just finally finished editing the photos from this weekend and got them uploaded today.
So we drove up to Nashville Friday night, had an awesome dinner with friends. š Saturday we got up, and I put on Belle, and Chase and I headed over to the fairgrounds for the Nashville Comic/Horror Fest.
We were supposed to have a 501st table, but, well, it ended up that we didn’t… so we just wandered around the room, which was all dealers, a few artists, and a handful of the usual comic convention “autograph-ers.”
Just like last year, there was a dog show going on next door, so I was happy seeing all the dogs going back and forth. A few got their pics with the guys in costume:
And Chase finally got to wear his new Jango, ALL the parts:
He was quite popular for pics, unlike me, most people glanced at me and said, “who is she?”
Oh, and thankfully Kristie let us borrow her car for the weekend – we were packed!
Chase bought a few things. I got a gift for Kevin, and found a Wonder Woman action figure I liked and got that. One dealer was kind enough to give me a loose Hoth Leia figure I was going to buy for free – how nice!! Chase & I definitely plan on visiting his booth again at midsouthcon š
So yeah, Belle. It was pretty comfy, although one of the shoes rubbed my heel, and the wig drove me crazy. I’m still not happy with the top of the thing. I may completely cut the top off and remake it, just keep the skirt and make it two pieces… although really that may be more trouble than just making a whole new thing. The top is still just “off” because it was so big – the neck is too wide between the shoulder straps. But complaining aside, it was fun to wear.
There was this odd little “town” set up there on the fairgrounds by where we parked, so that’s where we took some pics of it.
Then, we were going to go back into the con for about an hour, so I was going to slip pink Belle on (it’s a quick change) – but when I pulled it out, it was SO wrinkled š I was so disappointed. I had ironed it and kept it hanging up, but it still managed to get wrinkled. Ah well. I stayed in regular Belle, though I took the wig off to relieve my head, and we went back in for a while.
So then we all went to eat at Taco Bell… then headed over to troop the zoo.
I actually managed to change completely into ballgown Belle in the parking lot. I’ve never done that before! LOL. I brought my makeup mirror and redid my makeup, restyled the wig, got all that on, and got the corset and everything on right there LOL (I just wore a tank top under the corset, with the straps tucked inside).
The zoo was SO crazy. It was even more crowded than last year. I couldn’t walk two feet without being bombarded by photos, kids and hugs. It was a LOT of fun, but it’s exhausting after a while! We wandered around, the weather was great… I only snapped a few pics, and then only with my little Fujifilm camera – I didn’t want to drag the big rebel around the zoo with us.
And a cute story:
I’m walking along with the guys (Chase is in Vader) and this one mom comes up holding a little boy, who I’d already seen a few minutes before and taken photos with. She said he had something to ask me. I said sure. Well he turned shy and wouldn’t ask, so mom said it for him, “He’s really worried that Belle has been walking around with Darth Vader and the Stormtroopers all night. He wants to make sure you’re all right!” LOL! So cute!
