You guys know I don’t care anything about keeping the toys and collectables I buy in their packaging, right? I love ripping open a new toy, and then setting up the figures in a silly way. I’ve have a handful of things over the years that I decided to leave in their packaging – mostly, the big LOTR action figure sets, because they looked so nice in their big boxes.
However, the past year or so, most of the stuff I’ve gotten has remained unopened. I’ve got a whole collection of various Star Wars toys that I just have never opened. Most notably, my Sideshow ESB Han Solo – still in his box. I’m no collector, I just buy stuff I like… yet I have no desire to open these things. I don’t know. This past weekend at Adcon I found the Queen Amidala Parade Dress action figure, and I bought it… now I’ve got it home, and I don’t know if I want to even open it. It might get set on the very top shelf, with my three unopened Leia figures.
I dunno, it’s just weird, because I’ve always loved to open my toys, but now… I just don’t feel like it!
Maybe somehow inside I know I’m moving next year, so it would be best not to open them now? Maybe after I move I’ll feel like opening them? Who knows.
