So the room revamp and ultimate cleaning is finally to the point I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I started back in December, cleaning everything out and getting rid of stuff and moving things out of my room, so I could bring new stuff in.
The plans were for a new bed for me, nightstand, shelves, a chair, a lamp, the works!
Well, then Chase proposed, and it kinda changed plans. I already own two beds – my bunk bed, and a king bed (that doesnt fit in my room, so it’s in storage). What was the point in me buying a new bed if I’m just moving in with Chase next year? We’d have 3 beds between the two of us. I did buy new shelving, and I’m still going to get a nightstand, but everything else kinda got dumped.
We painted – my “Wendy Darling” purple is gone, replaced with “Christopher Robin’s Swing” green. My bunk bed got dismantled and put in storage, my desk and one of my shelves got put away, too. One of my good shelves went in my closet. We ended up setting up Chase’s bed in my room for now – once he moves into his own apartment, he’ll either just leave this bed here for me and take my King, or take his bed, and I’m going to go ahead and buy a sofa (since we’re going to have to have one anyway) and I’ll sleep on that here in my room until we’re moved in together.
Either way – so, nice, normal bed set up — got a new rug! New ceiling light. A lot of stuff that was in my closet got sent to the attic, and a lot of stuff that was in my room got put in the closet shelves. A LOT of my books – ones I’ve read/don’t plan to read again for a long time – toys, etc. Chase and Dad put my new shelves up.
Tonight, I got the boxes of DVDs, CDs, videos, and toys out of the dining room and unpacked them — I have so much stuff!! I sat most of it up on my new shelves. I finished putting away all my DVDs and videos, and some of the CDs. My entertainment center — outside of the top — is finished.
Tomorrow, I’m going to focus on finishing the new shelves, the side shelves of the entertainment center, and maybe getting the little shelf for my BK Star Wars toys up. Also my little shelves for my zizzlingers and other tiny toys.
Hopefully I can get it to the point tomorrow that I can put the rug down.
